Difference

Alluring in her scalloped neck lacy black dress
she strides into the smoke filled room
concentrating on her every step,
as her spike heeled sandals
a challenge alone.

She felt a bit uncomfortable as she entered
not often she dressed alluring as tonight.
Feeling a need to be noticed with desire
she found an empty bar stool to sit,
now she tried to avoid the stares
coming at her like wild fire.

She pondered what the difference could be
still the same desirable person inside
just a different costume displayed
is that what makes a difference?
She strolls away shoes off
back to her comfort zone.
