"Yet Another

It's yet another...
    "yet another,"
       empty evening,
   devoid of the
        warming
      breath of "light."

It's yet another...
    "yet another,"
        dusky time
      where the demons
     sway,
           in the lullaby(e)
       of wavering aware

It's yet another...
    "yet another,"
          timid twilight,
      pulling,
         prodding,
              swarthy secrets
        from noonday's pen

It's yet another...
    "yet another,"
         daydream fading
       from hope
         to wistful
        wishing for
          surcease of the
           "wake"

It's yet another...
    "yet another,"
         darkened divorce
       between reality's bond
               and
        inanity's promise
             of endless
               litany
          -boredom bred-

It's yet another...
    "yet another,"
          sleepless night.

Christopher,

I seem to have missed alot of your posts, and I will correct that mistake. Beautifully worded and read.

It's YET ANOTHER beauty
from your pen.
Love the format and the
resounding 'yet another'.

And this is one of the most beautiful poems you have ever written - well done.

Very graceful, it flows like a river my friend.

It's yet another
     (another)
Night when shadows
     beckon and taunt
          from empty corners ...
The silence rings,
     insistent, a litany
          of solitude haunting
Thoughts that echo
     in the suffocating void
          (another)
Study of darkness, the pillow cold
     and eyes searching
           for what was, what isn't,
Possibilities mocking, painful,
     on yet another
           sleepless night.

Um -- went off on an entirely different tangent there, I think, but overall I enjoyed and I empathize.  Sometimes it can be really frightening to be alone with yourself (at least in my case).

Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

Sharon - Thakn you for making the first appearance, (wink) that's a rarity for you I know!

Haleyja - Thank you as well! Feel free, though I wanr you I haven't been posting much lately, so you may have to dig...LOL

Marilyn - I know you undestand! LOL

Marge - And "yet another" kind reply. Thank you!

Ruth - I know you too can relate!

Kamla - From you, that is enough to swell my head! Thank you my friend... may I assume you don't want a "line-by-line?"

CMGrimm - Another thank you!

Liz - Your presence is gratification enough for me!

Kess - Actually m'dear, I think you've merely portrayed another facet of this particular demon which accosts so many. I know you too can empathize with the bane of insomnia. And that you wrote such a great (free verse) response leaves me smiling!

Gen - Halo there! Thank you for stopping by, taking time out of your oh-so-busy schedule to deign a visit upon this poor, humble poet!   Thank you sincerely Gen!

Corinne- Thank you for the reply, glad you felt it!

Martie - And another thank you to you as well, glad you enjoyed!

Been there - done that.  This poem is the story of my life...well, the shortened version anyway.  Nice to know your head is still as messed up as mine.  I never feel so alone after reading your work.  Great poem, bud...but you knew that. I'm sure.

I am the moth, you are the flame. You have drawn me into this night of yours and I will be forever grateful. Where have you been hiding all this time? Your talent is too good to lie dormant for long.

Christopher,
Your face shows such youth and yet your words are filled with deepness and wisdom a wonderful  example of our bodies merely being a shell holding our heart and soul together.  Your poem was wonderful and I'm once again a recipient of a gift that you give freely in your work.  Thank you.
