The stone of Late This day I knelt on fresh turned sod, With head bent low in prayer. And numbness held the pain at bay, As words dissolved in air. Her face appeared each crystal tear, That fell beneath my eyes. And each one brought a different thought, Negating her demise. I did not wish to understand, A reason for this fate. I only wished to compensate, This tragedy of late. There was one thought that passed my mind, But one of some dismay. This gift of pain although unkind, Will some day drift away. And I cursed my mind, the time and state, As my eyes burned on the stone and date. |

To let go of the pain is not to let go of the love...that is forever. Your poem inspired me Sy, but then, they always do. |

Seymour~ My tears fall in easy-remembering with the poignancy of this piece. 'Her face appeared each crystal tear, That fell beneath my eyes. And each one brought a different thought, Negating her demise.' Not ready to let it drift away ... my heart just doesn't want to, yet. Thank you, darling man, for something that has significantly touched me on this day. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Goodness, Sy, How superb your poetry, and so sad. I can't think of any other poet to pen this beautiful a piece. Your verses seem to get better, yet how can they. I am in awe. Love ya Liz |

Sy, this one is a real keeper. "Negating her demise" are three of the best words I have seen in a poem. Very nice job. ALso, I'm envious of anything that can significantly touch Marge. |

Sad it is i can see this A memory although it can be bliss Not forgotten means still there I'm gald that memories are there to share A nice and deep piece of poerty The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |
