They say that love is blind That my heart it will one day find Not seeing my major imperfection Love will break through the rejection I dare to say that love can see Everything that's wrong with me My weight and my depression Haunting me like an infection Love sees everything that's wrong Ignoring the areas which I am strong Love is a horrible, wretched thing Only pain and heartache will it bring Or maybe, just maybe they were right And true love has no earthly sight For when it comes walking my way It looks right past, to my dismay In loves eyes I don't even exist I am but a spectre in the mist Fading away to whence I came Love never even knew my name [This message has been edited by Mistikman (edited 03-03-2000).] |

I love the last stanza and that last line is a killer! I'm wearing a name tag from now on so love will know my name! This is very good, young sir! You get better with age... ha! You're only 17..what will you be like at 30!? |

mistikman...listen to me here... Staying Home Do you ever wonder why they say you fall in love when, really, you fly? The falling part comes when you must say goodbye. Love is a part of life as life is part of death here it comes again and again pumping you up then stealing your breath. I can't count how many times I've fallen in love...or is that flown? well, either way, with someone or alone a lesson I haven't, till now, been shown... inside of you is where love is best known... and there's no sense running away from home. ~shadows dance by the light within~ |

passing shadows- That is an excellent poem. I seem to be falling all the time though. I have yet to spread my wings and fly. Thank you. |

Excellent poem! Love, true love will come, sooner or later, often not soon enough to please anyone! True love takes no account of imperfections. That's the key to look for! Denise |

Mistikman, this is such a powerful piece of writing, and something so many people can relate to, I think. Love, to me, is drawn to the beauty that is shining from within you. Love recognizes and illuminates further that beauty, that presence within. There have been times when I haved looked in the mirror and was able to see very little of who I really am...it was as if I was invisible, and it was because I "felt" invisible, and used, and uncared for. It is something that I still have to consciously remind myself of at times...that I am not invisible, and that I am okay and will "be" okay. And so must you, Mistikman. You are going to be okay, and you are definitely a beautiful person, in my eyes. (And you write some exceptional poetry!) ~ Claire |

Oh dear, what a poem. Can't say I don't feel this way myself at times. Sometimes i think love is merely myth. Even still, I hope I'm wrong. Good poem, Mistikman. Michael |

This is a great poem. I can relate to it in some ways, but I can't say that I think that love is a terrible thing. I think it's wonderful, and maybe that's worse, in a way. Anyway, I hope you find love soon. Your friend, LoveBug "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world" |

Lovebug- well, I didnt mean love was wretched in of itself, I merely meant the way it was treating me made it seem as such. Thanks for reading |
