Senryu’s of Love Separate But Together Vast spaces deny us You inspires my heart songs With those Irish eyes … On emerald Isle Us running behind hedge groves In afternoon rain … Stars join in night dance Two waltz a candle lit sky Irish eyes wink yes … Lips seeking pleasure- moist in delicious ventures lost in throws of love…. James Parker Haley Mar 2, 2000 So I thought I'd try and put together a few Senryu or haiku's to make a poem of Love, each being Separate But Together. Not sure if I'm following the right format... The title was never finished, but after reviewing, my comments above it was staring me right in the face.... I think poems just write themselves, I am just the pen? Achingly beautiful, James, you've outdone yourself this time! Corinne I've never written a Senryu, looks somewhat similar to a Haiku? |

Corinne, Thank you Achingly. As I was informed by another poets post on this site, in another poem. Haiku is about nature and Senryu is about the human experience usually with an ironic twist. It seems that they both use the same format, 5-7-5, or as some may not know what that means its 5 syliables - 7 syliables - 5 syliables. Parker |

I have to agree those are nice either way and speak books in just a few words< !signature--> The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. [This message has been edited by HelmutB (edited 03-03-2000).] |
