An angel lightly brushed my hand, her wings just seemed to enfold me I could feel her strength hold me up, as I was falling - ever so slowly She gently took away the pain, at times she shed a tear She gave me hope when all seemed lost, and she hugged away the fear I didn't want to wake from this, so afraid of what I would feel But slowly realization hit, this was no dream, this was real You were that special angel, that I didn't want to leave It was you who gave me a little hope, and tried to make me believe That no matter how heavy the load may be, no matter how long the walk You will never let me go on alone, or stop the endless talk You said you'd never let go of the rope, well, I've got your rope too And as long as there's life and breath in me, I will never let go of you The road ahead may seem long at times, but together we will make it through We'll walk this path side by side, and do what we have to do To overcome each obstacle, to get over each bump with ease To scale those frightening mountains, unafraid to fall on our knees And ask God to give us the strength we need, to stand when our legs our weak To find compassion in family and friends, when comfort is what we seek And when we come to a crossroad, unsure of which way to turn, We'll be there with all the support we can give, and pray it's the right bridge we burn You have jumped many hurdles before this, what you have learned - you've taught me too But there are some that I have had to jump first, perhaps, just so I could teach you That no matter how hard the walk may be, no matter that nothing seems fine You will never be alone on this path, for you'll have whatever is mine. Enjoyed Did Jesus laugh? I think He did, 'cause He was once a little kid; and all of us were made with joy both sugar-spice girl and snake-snail boy! |
