Three Musketeers - A rogue, a flirt, a balladeer There are three guys one day I met While surfing on the Internet And they were spatting back and forth From west to east and south to north The one from honorable seed has sprung But hides it with a worldly tongue And all the ladies see right through The mask attached with super glue The other speaks in earthly tones While rattling his jealous bones For he can hardly bear to see The other one win victory The third one is a balladeer With pen as sharp as any shear He slices words with bladed saw And enters in the free-for-all And there they were, three musketeers A rogue, a flirt, a balladeer Writing poems about each other Each outdoing one another Words of outrage, words of shame Calling one another names Shredding them to little pieces A war of words that never ceases But written in between the lines Are friendships you cannot define For fight they may with pen and ink They’re really closer than you think A camaraderie next to none Is treasure that the three have won And laughter is the end result Of verses laced with pure insult I swear that I had never met More mayhem on the Internet It was the stuff of little boys With manly verbiage as their toys Now who is best, is quite a riddle I don't see any second fiddle If I had to choose among the three I'd take the trio just for me Love you all Liz [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 03-01-2000).] |

Well my choice is fairly well documented and would surprise no one! LOL. But this is wonderful, Elizabeth... a delightful poem about 3 terrific guys. Their exchanges are a joy to us all! |

Elizabeth, Ingenious was your trilogy And turned it to an epoppe. A wonder to my simple mind. That binds the very nonaligned. I am in awe of your prowess. Love ya Sy |

Dear Liz, I smile from ear to ear To be one of your musketeers To be immortalized in verse With those two - well, it could be worse. Toerag's no musketeer - In fact With that schnozz he's DeBergerac! Nor with LongJohn can I concur He's like the Ancient Mariner! I do my best to keep in line These apoplectic friends of mine But they're so out of control at times I'm forced to use insulting rhymes. It really makes me feel sad To have to cut them down so bad But let it be well understood I do it for the boys' own good. Thanks, Liz. You've made the story clear Of me and those two mouseketeers And, though I say it 'neath my breath, I love those silly jerks to death! |

Absolutely wonderfully entertaining. You speak well of these boys and their reads. They certainly reinforce what you have written. |

Lizzie, my friend~ Absolutely adorable. As you can see the 'musketeers' are running free. Indulging in poetic brawl giving laughs to us all. You sure do them justice in your poem. Brought smiles ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
