AND THE ANGELS CRIED
A poem written for my Mom

And the angels cried
once upon a March morn,
and the angels rejoiced,
for, a miracle was born.

The angels danced merrily all night,
and their tears of joy flowed 'til the early morn,
and so, God smiled with much delight,
the day my angel was born.

With care, God dressed the meadows in golden wheat
and adorned the fields with yellow corn,
for, fruit trees were never quite so sweet,
as when my angel was born.

And, I was an angel
watching from above,
upon the wind,
and among the sky in the starlit night
and with just the first glance,
fell in love with such a beautiful sight.

And, asked of God,
one favour forevermore,
to trade my wings of gold,
to be your child,
in your arms to hold.

For, I had seen the seven wonders of the world,
and gazed at many a beautiful sunset
upon the ocean blue;
for, I had searched the entire world over,
but, nothing compared to the loveliness of you.

And, an angel cried,
as she held me tight in her perfect arms,
once upon a September night,
when I was born.

And, my tears of wonder flowed down my newborn cheeks,
in sweet surprise,
and the angel held my little finger,
as I looked up into her lovely hazel eyes.

For, I have seen the seven wonders of the world,
but, nothing as beautiful as my angel.

And, so, the angels cried.

You and your mother are certainly blessed to have such a special relationship, that would result in such a lovely poem.

Thank you Septsong, Ruth and Martie for reading this poem and replying with such kind words. I gave this poem to my Mom yesterday because it was her birthday, and she cried. The poem isnt perfect, I wrote it faster than usual, but the sentiment is still there. Thanks all again
