I have an inadequate understanding Of the book That lies open before me A Guide to Rare and Out of Print Books Volume 23. Although he is now approximately 45. He still wears the original owner's signature Has a few creases And is slightly worn at the edge. His pages have a linotype that is hard to read. He is of more value than the books he can guide one to find. He is particular and out of print And has a water mark on his papers. I, on the other hand Am easy to acquire, personal and an easy read. A paperback, thumbed thru and discarded With no front wrapper to protect. But one finds loosely inserted among my pages Curious notes jotted by those Who carried me carelessly home after purchase. I was acuired at the Merchantile, Summer Street, Boston. My edges are not gilt nor my spine Handsomely repaired, but I have been read. And sometimes I now think, if we were to be compared Isn't it that we both had something to share? |

Eye opening....truly eye opening, I see so much understanding and wisdom in this ![]() There are two kinds of pedestrians...the quick and the dead. Drive it like you stole it. |

You never disappoint me, my friend... I wasn't sure where you were going with this piece when I began - I love it - What a great theme... ![]() |
