The Wonder of You Sometimes in my silence, I'm just thinking of The wonders and beauty, the power of love For words cannot ever relate what is true The power and wisdom, the wonder of you Sometimes I don't say what I feel in my heart For my love is too deep for the words to impart I sit here just watching the things that you do And think to myself of the wonder of you I slowly awake in the promise of light And study your face as you dream through the night The morning comes creeping in soft fragile dew Let it fall in a mist on the wonder of you My spirit is hovering over your face And witnessing love in its beauteous grace And while you are still, I attempt to consume All the wonders of love and the wonder of you Sleep now, my love, through the dark of the night And I'll wake you in shadows of dawn's early light For that is the moment most precious and new To give in return all the wonder of you Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 01-12-2000).] |

This is wonderous Liz and so romatic and of course written with a grace that always becomes you. In the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. (ee cummings) |

I can only do one thing agree with all the reply above Very well done The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

I think you've outdone yourself on this one, Elizabeth. Wonderfully romantic, soft and tender in its loving ways. I love the repetition of the phrase "the wonder of you". It drives home the overwhelming feeling you have for the subject, the magic of these stolen moments, the purity of your motive. Pefect! It matters not how strait the gate; How charged with punishments the scroll; I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. --W.E. Henley |

Oh, Elizabeth, this poet caught me breathless, in mid-flight - it is one of those rare ones that I wish I had written! It tells, in beautifully meticulous language, exactly how I feel about my husband, and how I lie awake watching him sleep, just loving him so much, and yes, even the last - of waking him; that sweet time. The wonder of you ... this is an exquisite description of love, indeed! |
