I've heard so much about a heart
that's made of purest gold.
I've wondered how this all could be,
"because they're red I'm told."

The color doesn't mean to much
'tis what we have inside
that makes our heart a living thing
and by it we abide.

Sometimes I wish my heart was small
just by an act of fate
so there could be no room inside
to harbor any hate.

Sweetie-
Hearts don't harbor hate ...
honest they don't.
A heart is expandable ... to hold
all the love you let enter.
Knock !  Knock !
Love to you ......

Echo...this is a lovely piece and I echo Marge's sentiments, so here's to allowing love to rule.

Welcome back Echo : )
It's good to see you posting again! I can relate to this poem sweety. But to have a smaller heart would not only cut out hate, but also love as well. This was very well written.

Welcome Back Echo, we've missed you!  Lovely work, but I too believe that if we had smaller hearts to close out the hate, then we would also close out love.  But sometimes it seems easier that way, huh?  Great work!

Mel, and excellent poem!  It can harbor many hateful things, but God can cleanse them all!

Hey girl!  I sure am glad you're back to writing more great stuff for us...this one was a beauty....
It's okay to be angry, just don't let it eat you up, and rule your life.  Eventually, you have to let God handle the things and people who have hurt you.  They will pay....God will judge them.  You just keep a pure heart...and you will be blessed.  "Cast all your cares on him, because he cares for you".....Chin up girl....we all love you and have missed you desperately!  Hope to see more work from you!!!  Get that pen busy!   Love, Gennifer

I have found the poem that you wrote that inspired me to write Heartfelt thoughts.  After reading your poem titled "Hearts" I started to think about the way my heart was feeling and what my heart desired.  I loved your desire for a soft heart.  I wrote this short poem for you.

Wherever you go
Passions travels with you
now always in your heart.
It was you who stirred this passion up
and embraced it from the start.
So live pleasurably
and savor your destiny
so passionate together
still passionate while apart.

Take care, James
