Escape!

Locked up
in this cage
trying to fight
my painful rage

I am

Suffering
and wilting
slowly dying
and clinging to
a possibility of hope

That

My soul
will soon
set itself free
from this cage
which beholds
the unknown page

For I pray

the
strength
to Escape
and unbind,
to free my soul
of this undecided mind.

Dark Angel

You WILL escape Dark Angel, BECAUSE you pray.
I also have been where you are! I am praying with you!

Dark Angel, your reference to writing as a means of release is subtle but plainly perceptible here. Strong poetic texture, nicely written.

I rather like the flow and format of this piece, like steps it is. Like this I do .

Wow!  Great poem.  Indecision can be the hardest escape in the world.  I think you gotta be a modern day Hudini to pull it off...LOL  I wallow in indecision everyday of my life it seems.  Let me know if you figure it out.

This is a solid piece of work M, it does flow well - it does indeed. The end fits the beginning well - in sound and content.

Well done!
