Poets have said beauty lasts but a season I disagree for in this rhyme lies my reason In every time and every way does beauty hold sway from deepest crackling cold of mid-winter night to summer's display of Nature's vibrant glory and uncanny delight Spring is a time of renewal and procreation ice melts and ground thaws in burgeoning expectation up the trunks of majestic trees life will creep as Nature's children awaken from long winter sleep Budding branches split with the hesitant green of new born leaves returning birds sing a song serene accepting vernal promise and winter's reprieves Colors explode with rapturous abandon in High summer's heat from wildflowers in full bloom tinting the air with sweet scents of Mother Earth's own perfume Burdensome fruit drag down blackberry canes spicy earth scents the air after warm summer rains butterflies and dragonflies add a touch of faerie dancing across the skies while cicadas hum and chipmunks make merry Summer color pales before Autumnal finery that prevails in cloaking the world in vibrant hues Banshee winds howl the news to Nature's waiting ears that fatten for their long sleep between passing years in dens dug safe and deep Birds migrate south obeying fate and instinctive call rushing ahead of first snowfall In winter bare limbs reach into the sky like skeletal fingers desperately grasping at reasons why Crystal clear nights provide awesome sights from Northern Lights to stars arrayed like diamonds displayed glittering with wonder so profound that hardened hearts are torn asunder with winters snowy and cold arts Solitude speaks volumes in dead winter's echoless tombs muffled by snow and icy airflow These then are my reasons for claiming beauty in all seasons and swear it falls not to decay I see such as both pride and duty to relay the beauty we hide with garish technological display ©2000 DreamEvil Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~. I too agree that there is beauty in every season. Great work, I especially loved the verse on fall. *Krista Knutson* ~*Like a lion, without fear of the howling pack, Like a gust of wind, ne'er trapped in a snare, Like a lotus blossom, ne'er sprinkled by water, Let me, like a unicorn, in solitude roam.*~ Hymn Of Buddha |

Soul-Brother, this is beautiful, you've captured the beauty in all seasons brilliantly. Well Done!!! What comes from the heart goes to the heart. Samuel Coleridge |

Like a jewel, like a flower, like the icy stars, I could live inside your descriptions! You write beautifully. Corinne |

Dark one - and here I see you again in the half-light. This is exquisite - and did indeed capture for me the beauty of your seasons - especially winter for I know not of the snow. Thankyou for this my friend - I am so much clearer on your weather! '...I want to be free - free to know people and their backgrounds - free to move to different parts of the world...' Sylvia Plath |

Splendid display of nature in words Very nice to read and leading through. The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

You did well with the seasons. I always claim each new season as my favorite, they are all beautiful in their own right, it's hard to choose! |
