Dream along the Avon River. We walk along the bend down there by the river The air is filled with a calming shiver We walk the way we always went Close to each other, hand in hand Water covered in the streetlights silent glow The river lies still, yet filled with flow Swans and ducks still float along Singing loud their evening song The dam far in the distance Keeping against the waters resistance Forming a lake that lies like a mirror quiescent Every thing seems so innocent. The night slowly falls, the sun low upon the clearing sky Daylights leaving slow and shy There are trees standing tall and weeping down There are trees carrying no crown Aged over hundreds of years No storm no weather fears Red skies covering the horizon buoyant light Curtains of night fall slow, dark, and slight The lake lies like a mirror quiescent Every thing seems so innocent Old trees and branches, died long time before Lying along the river’s shore The smell of night is in the air A soft wind blows from anywhere I hold your hand, your hand that means so much Feel your skin with gentle touch Kept in my head a happy song Here I want to stay. Here is where I shall belong The lake lies like a mirror quiescent Every thing seems so innocent The words I spoke not so long ago “My love.” These words are still there, but even so I know, you follow me where ever I will go The way we kissed that first night Everything seemed so good, so right The water shining, reflecting melted our soul That night, …we found a common goal Never will I forget when you turned and walked away There was so much more that I had to say The lake lies like a mirror quiescent Every thing seems so innocent I’m standing there with words to say Dreaming you didn’t walked away My heart cries out for you “My Love don’t you know I love you too.” You’re disappeared around the bend ahead I’m standing there wondering what would you have said If you only could have known what more I had to say But you just kept walking away The lake lies like a mirror quiescent. Every thing seems so innocent The lake lies like a mirror quiescent But I’m no longer innocent The fear to lose, what I love so dear Why can’t you stay, why can’t you be here My heart longs for you, to feel your gentle touch Deep in my soul you should know, “I love you …so much”. Poignant and haunting, this poem is lovely, and well worded. I like the way you repeat the same line at the end of each stanza, leading to the climax. So sad. Thank you for sharing! ...Living is ever like crossing rivers; finding a new life on each shore ... RJG |

There is simply one thing I shall must do And this is simply to "Thank You" You have no idea how your words make me feel I'm glad I signed my name to the ancient reel Words can not express how lucky i am To find such poeple, How shall i say "A Jem" I must tell "Hoot_owl_rn" you have been right The hearts of people here are open wide A special tribute goes to thee without you Ruth there wouldn't be a me "Sunshine" you have pushed me too For this my "friends" I all Thank You I hope i will do justice here my heart goes out to you with cheer Forgive if i don't repeat all the names as listed up above I shall send to you all a peace full dove. Thank you. The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |
