Heading out into the world
compass in my hand,
boots on my feet,
pack on my back,
thumb up in the air,
acres and acres of changing land.

It's me who's been changing
the land really stays the same.
I've been a jagged cliff
overhanging a mist filled
ragging gorge.
Now a field
of golden wheat
swaying in a warm summer breeze
ever since the day I was reborn.

But lately I've been
downloading to an upgrade,
scandisk then defrag.,
deleting every cookie
so not to clog up my hard-drive.
Surfing into the sunset,
but not on a board
and feel I'm being
pulled away
by technology
from the LORD.

Since I've found your forum
you've brought me back to focus,
the WORD will always
be more powerful than
the machine that sits before us.

This is a new title from Forum/Refocus.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
              Thanks,

Paul - This is great - and it's great to have you hear.... Don't be forgetting to enjoy the wheatfields too, ya hear???

If you want your titles changed, we can do that for you administratively....

Absolutely superb, and truth in every word. As for the title, even the simpler, "Refocus" would work.

We can lose our focus so easily, can't we? This is a fantastic poem with a wonderful message!

I liked your poem, but I can tell you, this forum is a vice, an addictive drug, and once you start you can't stop. I wish you luck, but please tred with care. And please send us more of your wonderful poems!

Paul...there are fields of words to graze upon here, but do not also foget the pleasures that God has created for us in the outdoor world

Addicted, addicted
  that is quite true
       addicted to words
          or poems that are free.

Much cheaper by far
  that all the other vices
We can just sit here and
put all the words in our pipe
          and smoke them,

Or drink them all up with our eyes
Calorie free
We could sit here for hours and
Get extremly high on praises we find
And wake up next day, to a new life online.

Minus the headache, I might add!

         Thanks everyone,
I had no idea this would touch
others the way it touched me
       when the Spirit poured it
             out of my soul.
By the way Hoot don't worry I'll be skiing
tomm. I never miss a rose!
            Thanks again,
                   Paul
