I picked a rose one day it was so beautiful it smelled so sweet One day I held it but was too blind to see the thorns of my rose -hurting me- It stung so sadly and scarred me clear through so I put the rose down It called to me begged me, to touch it again but this time I knew the thorns were there I picked it up carefully hoping I wouldn't get hurt But again, those thorns hurt me. I didn't want that rose anymore........ Still beautiful Still sweet -SEA- |

This is great sea! It brings to mind an old saying "There is no pleasure without pain", I think that fits. Well done. G Regret not that which you have done, Rather that which you haven't |

Sally, yes life and love. It was about someone I used to love very much, but he kept hurting me , so I let him go. Glad you liked it. Mike, thanks! Marge, thank you! Liz,memorable in the way that it's full of memories for me, I'm so glad you liked it! -SEA- |

Very nice poem, it made me think of myself being the rose trusting others to love, then getting hurt again. then giving up on him and still wanting him in my presence. beautiful! "Love comes but never goes, for if it ever went, it was never love to begin with." |

I heard a quote one time...I'm not sure who said it and I'm probably not totally right on the translation, but it went something to this effect: When some people look at roses, they see the beautiful flower and ask God why he gave it thorns; When I look at a rose, I see the thorns and thank God that he gave them beautiful flowers.
