The Writer

His words sing to me
some sweet sorrowful song
bound by profound beauty
he melts this glacial heart
polarized for so long

Wanting to envelop me
in eiderdown so warm,
this poet I shall never see
my mind’s eye creation
writing from a snow storm

I am what your dreams hold
hazy hum inside your head
A gypsy’s tale to unfold
A whisper in your ear
that slips into your bed

So, you would be a new mystery,
but love, I’ve been one all along.

This is lovely.
I like mysterious people.

Corinne - This is another incredibly great poem from you.  Your last line is very sensuous.  It reminds of your other poem that finished with, "Darlin, if you only knew."  You have a way of leaving the reader with held breath and expectation.  Great writing, Corinne.

Corinne, this is very beautiful poem, you really are a mystery.

I sought the end of a rainbow, for the gold that it might hide. But when I saw those fire red locks, my heart had stopped inside.

Dear Hoot_Owl_M, thank you!  LOL  I had to laugh, because I know my poems are all over the map right now, and I feel like apologizing for that sometimes.  But, I'm glad that you are never disappointed!  I always find inspiration in your poems!  Although, I must admit that I wish we could guide you out of your sadness, too!  I guess we all wish to see our friends happy and wish we could help.  I'm sure that when one of my "dark" poems hits this board, people read it and can't think of a thing to say!

Dear Echo,

Thank you very much!

Corinne, I've been living in this snow storm all my life waiting to write poems for someone like you. Its my wishfull thinking, but I want to think this poem is just for me... Poet, snow bound country, slips into my bed... (oh there I go dreaming again).

My dearest Toe, back to the "Ode", you should go! If you dare, let your fingers take you there!

Parker, hon, you take my breath away! Perhaps we should run away together, what do you say?
