Rainbow's End

Sometimes it's not enough to want
Though clear and crisp within your mind
That rainbow's end, that sighted goal
That's so elusive, hard to find

Sometimes it's not enough to seek
The surest path to find the way
Without the weary walk through dark
To reach the glorious light of day

Sometimes it's not enough to fight
For something that your heart desires
For fight alone becomes a burden
Squelching slow the burning fires

Sometimes it's sheer determined will
That makes things happen in our lives
It's how the spirit deems each day
And how a splendid dream survives

Sometimes it's just too easy
to find the words to pen ...
always within the inkwell
of Elizabeth, my friend.

Darling lady, this is awesome.

May all your dreams
have enough determination
to run a marathon.
May all your dreams
shine through
in the mirror of your soul.
May all your dreams
take a tight grasp
upon the spirit of the day.
May all your dreams
always have poetry
as there means to inspire.

The thing they never told us when we were kids was that rainbows are circles...no wonder we end up chasing forever...

Nice work Elizabeth

Dreams keep a person alive and I guess I'll be alright if I can find my rainbow's end. It's good that you can still have faith in your dreams.

Marge,
Thank you dear dreamer

Lost dreamer,
Very beautiful response, indeed
I enjoyed reading it
Thank you

Toe,
No, this wasn't about our Rainbow. I don't have the words to describe her beauty, it comes from the inside out, and radiates on her beautiful face

Local rebel,
If the rainbow is a circle, then the dream is eternal

Tracie, Thanks so much

Koon,
Faith is infinite

Sy
If the dream is splendid, I make it happen

Liz

Great poem, Elizabeth!! I've had those fights that became burdens... and my will needs a few trips to the gym for strength training! *S*

And Rainbow: Perhaps he was merely comparing the beauty! *G* (hehehehehehe)

So true, Elizabeth. Nothing succeeds like sheer force of will, determination and plodding along toward the final goal. The earth was formed in such a way. Excellent writing.

Toe, it embarrasses me to say this, but.... you stole my line!!!

Remarkable...your ability to transform such thoughts into words...this was quite splendid, Liz...beautiful.

I second all the above and especially Seymore
A nice dream lets hang on to it
Very beautiful in prose

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Hoot and Helmut, Thank you for your responses and please see my dream come true in announcements. WE had the will and found the way, with the help of a lot of prayers from poet friends
