I closed my eyes and took a breath and softly said I do.
I never stopped to think how hard it would be without you.
And as I celebrate again without you by my side.
T’would be easier to count the stars then all the tears I’ve cried.

This year has been so difficult, but I still feel the same.
As the moment that I stood there and proudly took your name.
And as the time draws nearer for them to send you home to me.
I can not help but dream about the way that it will be.

I promised on that day it was for better or for worse.
And marriage is just not a part of life you can rehearse.
But if this is the worst that we will ever have to face.
Then in this year there’s not a moment I would have replaced.

I love you more this moment then I ever thought I could.
And I know were it possible to be here that you would.
I whisper softly to "Our Star", Happy Anniversary.
I turn and pull my pillow close wishing you were here with me.

With perseverance even the snail reached the Ark.
