Sleep well, my loved one, wherever you are - I’ve waited ‘til dawn for your coming; The babies have slept softly all night long, And I lie here alone while you’re roaming. I love you, my darling, and I always will - It’s easier when you’re not tied here ... For I can’t be angry when you go away, But I miss you when you don’t abide here. You must be asleep somewhere, sweetheart, by now - I won’t break my heart over you longer - I’ll cuddle your pillow and wish you sweet dreams, And I’ll pray that your love will grow stronger. When I see your sweet face again at my door - I know it will set my heart leaping ... There’s joy in just seeing you - thrill in each kiss, And each moment with you is worth keeping. So I’ll tarry a while - be content with your smile, And I won’t expect more than I’m getting; Though sometimes it’s terribly lonely and hard, Still the sun of my love won’t be setting. |

Kaleidoscope, very nice poem. I must agree with the ladies, expect more for your love. There is someone who will love you more. |
