This began as a response to Vampire'sMistress poem "Of Love and Hate". I was e-mailed by Marge who told me it deserved a thread of it's own so here it is. Marge: I want to thankyou for helping me out with the final line.

Of love; it's passions sweeter side,
It's gentleness like rain.
It soothes the hurting part of us,
And wins out over pain.

Of hate; it's bitter and rebuke,
It's passion gone awry.
It's hurtful and it does consume,
All that is close by.

In all we do within our lives,
These feelings we must temper.
For either left to run amuck,
Can kill with just a whimper.

Love is the key, hate will never achieve anything only create more problems.

I can understand hate running amok causing problems but I've never seen the problem of too much love. Nicely written, Marilyn.

Mike...Too much of anything can hurt. Love left umtempered can become obsession and obsession causes as much pain as hate.
