Wonders of Life

Throughout my life I have learned what I should appreciate.
I have learned what I should really focus on.
In the process of enduring many struggles and painful situations,
I have better understood what to hold on to and what to let go.
I understand that some of my initial desires,
In the big picture, may not be of real importance.
And that certain opinions of people,
Are insignificant to dwell upon.
I recognize that the point of life is not to compete with others,
Is not to have the most money, or the best looking wife.
What is most important about life is enjoying it.
When it’s all said and done,
It will not matter what you have in the bank,
Or how many people called you sir.
You will look back on life and recall the times you enjoyed yourself.
You will count your smiles and not your possessions.
So it is better to live life, I believe,
By focusing on the enjoyable experiences.
And not worrying about my frustrations or difficulties.
Because problems are nothing more,
Than temporary conflicts that make the good things in life seem more precious.
And the good memories and feelings are what stick with you forever.
What are you going to be most likely to remember?
The time when someone made you feel like ****,
Or the time when you made someone feel really good about themselves?
Are you going to remember the time when you cried in self sorrow,
Or the time when you cried out of the joy in your heart?
When you wake up in the mourning do you find yourself dreading the day that awaits?
Or eager to find out where you will find yourself emotionally and mentally?
I used to look at someone and see what they could improve about themselves,
Now I look at them and see the wonder of how they came to be that way,

Nothing in life is worth anything
unless it can be shared
there's no point in having money
if you have no one to spend it on
it's useless to love
if that person is never there
no point in laughing
if there's no one to hear you
and there no feeling worse
than holding out your arms
and having no one to hug
and there's no fun in arguing
when there is no reply...

Excellent poem

These are excellent thoughts, sir. It is always best to dwell on the good that you have to be grateful for and the good that you do for others. Anyone can wallow in pity and anyone can make someone feel like S**t. True happiness comes from dwelling on the positives........this is a good piece of work.
