Across the chasm, nothing but a faint dot shouting to be heard, but echoes scramble words, cuping my ear to ending sounds. Once, the distance was not so great, looking back, the gap was always there, too many differences between us. Now at opposite ledges, this canyon of our creation, I sense the earth beneath my feet, while you ponder skies of blue. © 2000 Corinne Bailey |

Wow, this really showed the chasm and differences between people so well. So sad but well done! |

Wow! This is excellent, Corinne! And I especially loved the last two lines. They said it all! |

I can relate to this one! Sometimes the widest distance between two people is not measured in miles! |

Corrine: So few words say so much. I enjoyed this ... --Kess PS: Line 5 -- should be "cupping" Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |
