(Bare with this one...it's definately a bit different) Book Of Regrets A book of leather on my table lays Its cover aged and worn beyond repairs The yellowed pages bare the mark of tears Its print is faded, though your mem’ry stays I leaf the fragile pages one by one Discovering old secrets hid from view Within each word my thoughts turn back to you And all the things I should have said and done A single teardrop falls from my blue eye As now, I read the words you wrote that day Though many years have passed, I still ask why My love, you felt you had to go away And so, I search as every day goes by In this, the book, where all my answers lay At the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet. ~Plato |

Oh Hoot! I like this one. It reminds me of when I found my mother's diary after she died. That's where I first saw my father's name enter into my mother's life. |

I have a book like this myself, Ruth, full of memories that make me question why. You did a good job with this! |

Ah regrets...the teachers of good character. Your poem is lovely, portraying hindsight with 20/20 vision. However, we must learn from the past to form a better to- day and tomorrow to see a better past next year. Never get bogged down in the sea of regrets. No one can undo the past. |

Each heart has pages writ with regrets. Loves forgotten, but not quite yet. The nicest memory of all is one that still causes a tear to fall. It shows our hearts that something worth crying over ... is something worth remembering. It shows that all in life we bear ... can be reduced to just a tear. ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Ruth this was absolutely wonderful! ~*~ ^i^ ~*~ Love is such a lonely art, and death is but a taste. Minds are merely instruments that often go to waste! ~*~ ^i^ ~*~ |

Lovely....very much so...and I don't know if this is of a real event. But the pain of the past has made virtues today....and it is those things that make you who you are....and that is who I love I don't buy temporary insanity as they murder defense. Because people kill people. That's and animal instinct. I think breaking into someone's home and ironing all their clothes is temporary insanity. |

excellent writing, Ruth, but some books should remain closed....unless remembered regrets can prevent future mistakes. |

I read each line and thought I knew What this poem had all to do The word regrets just made me guess Something here was perhaps a mess You know a poem in which I wrote A story of regregts I told Be gentle with your self I say Life has so many regrets layed your way We can only be what we are In poerty you are my superstar One thing I will never there regret And this is the day I said hello to you here on the net < !signature--> The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. Ruth, very touching and sad. It reminds me of a poem I posted a few weeks back, "Promises and Paper Chains" similar feelings, I very much know how you feel. Parker |

Bare with you? Bare with you? Sometimes I can barely contain myself over your work! Superb! Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |
