I have seen the tears of many fallen stars, the questions in their eyes, their souls forever scarred. I was once a fallen star myself so long ago, the wounds do heal eventually, but they don't seem to know. We give the gift of life, to those we love the most, and with that gift we give them pain and leave them with the ghosts. It isn't fair that our children have to suffer so, for our mistakes and thoughtlessness as parents we bestow. All our children know, when they enter life, is the love they crave so much we sever like a knife. And when that bond is severed, beyond repair it seems, our fallen stars are left with all their broken hearted dreams. Now they have to build, a new life from the start, then they live with fear, for whomever they may part. The anger and the rage that we see from them, who can blame the innocent from which the anger stems. We took away their family, and their friendships too, to make it worse we kept the anger, let it shine right through. If only we could learn that our childrens hearts come first, the road may be less bumpy, the hearts may hold less hurt. The little ones do not need to feel so greatly torn, they need to feel our strength and love to get them through the storm. Regrets I have as a mom who loves my fallen star, may he shine so brightly and mend his broken heart.. |

One word: beautiful. ~Astraea "Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness." "Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things." |

Outstanding! HUGS Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn. |

Great job! ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. But a place of torment because the light of God is gone. To escape this, accept the blood of Jesus Christ! ~*~ |

I hope your child knows the endless flow of your love. And may your poem serve as an example for all parents, young and old, trying to bridge a relationship. Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

My heart goes out to you. I deeply feel your love for your child, and I'm sure your child feels it too. |

That's beautiful - and if your child receives even a tiny amount of the love you showed through this, then I have high hopes for him...how loving this is! ...I am not a painter, I am a poet... F. O'Hara |

I have a fallen star too, and the way you describe an anguish I can't seem to write about, is a comfort. So much regret, so much pain. I wish more people would try to put it in words. |

Thank you so much. This poem doesn't even begin to cover how I feel about what parents can do (unintentionally) to children through divorce. I am guilty of this myself. My son suffered through my anger and hurt, and it is a lesson well learned. Now, his father and I are friends, and my son's smile beams...his pain comes first..his pain is my pain...hugs to you all! |
