If I had only known
You always tried to brighten my life
To show me the silver lining in the darkest of clouds
Painted my dreams beautifully before my eyes
Bringing me to giggles when I cried
There to comfort me in the darkest of nights
Holding me so gently when I wanted to die
Never giving up when everyone else would
Understanding in that odd, peculiar, sweet sort of way
All of my silly, eccentric, strange talks and ways

**This is short and sweet*

Sometimes we can't see things when they are right in front of our face! It is so easy to take the ones who love us and who we love for granted...very nice poem, Bridgette!

Whose winnings are less than his worth;
For he who is honest is noble,
Whatever his fortunes or birth.~~~Alice Cary, ~Nobility~

Bridgette...short and sweet, but oh so important. I only hope you shared this with the person it was written for and brightened their day like you have brightened ours

I have to echo everyone above, this is definately short and sweet...and says SO much!

May I never be too busy to help another's load,
Then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.

JustBleu -

What a sweet poem!  It is those little things in life that one gives to another without thought - just instinct - that makes a relationship so special.  Thank you for bringing a big smile to my face.
