It never would occur to me On any given day That words spoken so carelessly Could cause someone to stray From their beliefs From their convictions From their personal points of view From their emotions From their happiness From all havens they once knew It never would occur to me At any given time That actions spoken wrecklessly Could cause someone to find A different belief A different conviction A different path for each to follow A different emotion A different happiness A different emptiness in which to wallow Words sometimes speak less of actions But either one will do. The power lies in what we preach And in morals we wish to construe. You never know when someone's listening Or watching so intensely. So be careful what you say and do 'Cause it could affect someone emensely. Guide with all your deepest truths But none above the rest. Offer wisdom from experience And help others become their best. "Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads." ~Henry David Thoreau |

Ditto! More people should be more aware of the words they say....they are indeed powerful! And so is what they 'do'! Actions can speak louder than words! Great poem!< !signature--> Denise And slight is the sting of his trouble Whose winnings are less than his worth; For he who is honest is noble, Whatever his fortunes or birth.~~~Alice Cary, ~Nobility~ [This message has been edited by dsnyder (edited 01-18-2000).] |

There are some good lessons in your words for all to read. Provided they survive the filters of insensitivity. Thanks for sharing. DH |

Thanks for the kind words. This was truly a product of the differences in opinions I have viewed in this forum as of late. Words, as proven online, move people. And in our "real" daily life away from the computer, our actions do the same. How important to be sure to provide the best for those around us, in our speech and our doings. Glad you enjoyed. ![]() "Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads." ~Henry David Thoreau [This message has been edited by simplyYRREHS (edited 01-18-2000).] |

OH what the forum will inspire you to write! Thanks for all the kind comments, friends. Sngl Dad ~ I supposed this is just a universal "mommy" thing, not implied for you, dear... ![]() Sherry "Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads." ~Henry David Thoreau |
