Listening to every heart

Think First...

He said to her, simply, as it was true,
“Honey, you’re a beautiful woman”
and because those very words were few
she said “you have a late bill that is due?”

Sorry now, she bit her tongue in disgust
that she would have treated him thus,
for he rarely wore his heart on that sleeve,
and in his words, she did believe;

But she was too quick with her retort,
so a reminder to all, life is too short
to not hear the words of true love said
and before you respond, let them enter your head.

A great message here, Sunshine.  One should always think before speaking...but especially when it's those precious words that come so few and far between.

I like it when people find messages in our words, Michael...

and Justbleu, I feel like my angels are hovering when I don't insert my foot in mouth first...and say things I will regret later...

You write "true's" so easily and clear
The message is there my dear
So don't let me forget to say
Your in my heart on this very day.
Thank you Sunshine here is one for you

A Poet once this sentence penned
“A man is rich who has a friend”
I read it and thought, “How true”,
He must have had a friend like you.
(author I do not know)

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

You can never really take back a word once it's spoken, so very true! Thanks for the reminder, Sunshine!

It's much too easy to lose sight of those little nuances that are sooooooo important.... These are sound words, Sunshine...

Helmut, friends who come can easily go,
true friends remain ever so...

denise, you're welcome of the reminder,
may it make you ever kinder...

Nan, whose little nuances speak so well,
may we both forever have truth to tell...

I've had the experience of putting my foot in my mouth also Sunshine...
Your poem is lovely and I like the message that it contains...

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!

Oh my...such a lesson to be learned in this one. We often times let those special moments pass because we simply don't take the time to open up our eyes and ears to see what is right before us. Thanks for the reminder
