The Colors of You Like prisms hidden in a drop of dew Unseen by human eye in morning light Oh, how I love the colors that are you A rainbow mist of every single hue Reflect the very essence you invite Like prisms hidden in a drop of dew Serenity reflected in the blue Integrity in alabaster white Oh, how I love the colors that are you In shades of gold your friendship pure and true In crimson red, your passionate delight Like prisms hidden in a drop of dew Reflected in your eyes your spirit's hue Is enveloped in aura whitest white Oh, how I love the colors that are you So many different tones are showing through Your rainbow arc becomes my very light Like prisms hidden in a drop of dew Oh, how I love the colors that are you Elizabeth Santos |

I've seen those very prisms, Elizabeth, and you've captured the spectrum quite well. Thank you! Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

Elizabeth, Oh how I love the wit of you, You glisten like that drop of dew. You wave your words a Princess wand, And I a frog upon your pond. But place a kiss on his deadpan. And perhaps he'll turn into a man? Love Ya Sy |

Very well written. Loved the use of of the spectrum and the breaking it down for comparison. |

Rus, Thank you for those comments. I don't find it hard to rhyme a villanelle, but I find it hard for it to make sense, and this one says what I wanted it to say Liz Michael, What a compliment! Thank you! Liz Poertree, Not as hard as that darn sestina. I like the villanelle because it sounds like a song. Thank you Spiked, Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it Liz |

Well done there I should say I have never tried to write this way Don't know if I could do Such wonderful piece like this one of you I take my hut bend in my knee well done I say has thee The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

You haven't written anything yet that is not excellently done. And now another wonderful villanelle! Very beutiful, Elizabeth! A flawless villanelle, and a mighty fine poem in its own right as well. Thank you for an excellent read Elizabeth. --Kess You cannot choose the way of your death, but the path you choose will determine its own end. |

Liz, this is so pretty a rhyme. Villanelle is an often difficult form to write convincingly, but you've done so, and splendidly...good work! Claire |
