The Colors of April

My heart has waited long the lovely sight
Of springtime colors made to please my eyes
Of redbud pink and apple blossom white

Along the wooded stream in filtered light
The birth of pastel colors tranquilize
My heart has waited long the lovely sight

From out of winter into floral bright
The blooming bulb has shed its old disguise
Of redbud pink and apple blossom white

The blossoms burst in morning's rising light
And splash bright pinks against the bluing skies
My heart has waited long this lovely sight

For April is a month of pure delight
In colors of life's joys I fantasize
Of redbud pink and apple blossom white

The stars will be ablaze in April night
These springtime moments I will memorize
My heart has waited long the lovely sight
Of redbud pink and apple blossom white

Beautiful, Elizabeth! You really should see about getting these on a calendar! Wouldn't that be perfect?!

Elizabeth,
You have done well
It is a wonderful Villenelle.
The lines are dificult to insert with good
meaning and you did a good job. My favorite
is one by Dylan Thomas, called "Do not go gentle in to the night." Love ya Sy

Denise, Thanks, but this one stumped me a little. Don't know if I'll make it through December
Hugs,
Liz

Sy,
Thank you, dear poet, it was hard for me to get this to say what I wanted it to say. It's almost right. I'm sure you understand it
Love ya,
Liz

The imagery is simply beautiful Liz..
as is the poem...

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!
