Don't worry about your wishes being belated, Doc; I've been told this is Nan's birthweekend and will be properly celebrated through Monday (which is her daughter's birthday).

'Sides, Doc, at a certain age, I hear keeping track of which day of the week it is becomes something of a chore? Saturday, smatterday, it's all the same to us old folk.

In honor of Nan's birthweekend, I'd like to offer a poem I posted way back in Open #1. Somehow, it seems like an appropriate time to share it again.

Wrapping up birthday weekend with my daughter's birthday today. She was actually born on Memorial Day back when it always fell on the 31st.

Ron's poem always brings a smile to my face, not only because it was the onset of a very special and wonderful friendship, but also because I'm still not gray!..

Is it the weekend already? Oh well, I guess that people in Florida lose it faster than us regular folks.
