Just wanted to let you know that my Mom's birthday is next week on August 24. So if you want to send her some good wishes, I'll print them out for her. Next Thuesday I will take her on a little trip again and yes, I will take pictures and show them to you. As both my sisters have difficulty coming over, due to the health state of their spouses, I organized a trip to them. There's this organisation in The Netherlands, called 'Ambulancewens' (Ambulance wish'), founded three years ago by an ambulance male nurse. They bring people (mostly last wishes of people who will die soon) where ever they want to go in a specially designed ambulance accompanied by volunteering professional ambulance employees. This is their website www.ambulancewens.nl , it's in Dutch, but you can see the pictures. They do this all for free and they exist only from donations. I asked them if my mom would qualify and they phoned right back that they would be pleased to bring her to the place where we will meet with the whole family to enjoy lunch (a three hour drive). My eldest sister hasn't seen my mom in two years and Muys hasn't yet seen her two latest greatgrandchildren. So this will be fun. It's planned on September 11 and yes I will take pictures from that event too. Mommy Muys is still enjoying life as it comes and though the walking is getting more and more difficult and her short memory is a bit lacking (but whos ísn't), she's still aware of all that's going on and last week when I visited her, the bird had flown from her nest, she went out on her scooter to buy some groceries.
