Several of you have asked about Katie since I posted my poem 'bad news'. I wanted to wait until we knew everything, good or bad, before I posted an update. She had an ultrasound and then the doctors wanted a biopsy and made it sound very urgent. There were a few weeks that were unbearable. But the biopsy was done last week and we found out today that it is NOT cancer...She doesn't know yet if the tumors will have to be removed and she is on medication for now. I just want to thank you for all of your prayers that you sent...they worked!! I will also use this space to say that I'm taking a hiatus from Pip for awhile...I will still write (can't stop) and hope to pop in now and then : ) I think that because I've not been afraid of expressing some of the sides of myself, I've been mis-read by some people...or perhaps made myself vulnerable... I've made some really cool friendships all across the world and I really enjoy reading and commenting on everyone's poetry! I hope that the people who really like me will stop in so I can hear how you are doing : ) I will miss you... be well, shel . |

Brown-eyed Beauty, that is fantastic news about your friend Katie! What a relief that must be for you all! Now to the second bit o' news! What?1?I cannot even imagine what has brought you to this decision. You're my soul sister and I love you! ~ your poetry! ~ your personality! ~ your warmth! ~ your spunk! ~ your wit! ~ your charm! your humour! ~ You are like a breath of fresh air! I can imagine this place getting a bit stuffy without you gracing the pages with your ebulient presence! Gosh, I truly am disappointed to hear this. Shellie, great news about Katie. Sometimes I feel the same about posting etc, especially after having given a comment in the Alley or discussion forums, mainly because I think sometimes we are dismissed as not having the knowledge or background some others have. I was just saying the same thing to another poet friend yesterday that maybe it is a break I need from here although I think it is just that we are more sensitive than some others and are willing to see two sides to something and compromise while others aren't. I see you have no email available to keep in touch but if you would like to send me yours I would be happy to stay in touch with you. You are a nice addition to pip and it would be sad if you left for those reasons, although I can understand~~  M |

sheli, I am thrilled to hear about Katie. It's a scary thing - those biopsies. I went through something similar a couple of years ago and I don't ever want to do it again. You know, if you are receiving private messages that are making you uncomfortable, block them or get in touch with Ron. You have showed a beautiful side of you - and for anyone to take advantage of that? Well, that's just wrong. I don't think PiP is intended for anyone to take advantage of others because of poetry shared. I am only reading between your lines and may be way off base -- but, if I am right, I would hope that you do not let others determine where you share your poetry. If you ever need me, I am an email away - just click the envelope. I tried to get in touch with you through here a couple of weeks go (can't remember why now) but couldn't. Don't be away too long. Dear Shellie, I am very happy to learn about the good outcome of the biopsy. So Katie and you can relax and fear can dissolve. It hurts to read about your decision to leave Pip, I have no idea who would ever want to hurt you and why. This saddens me. As others have said, I found so much beauty and honesty and freshness in your presence and wonderful skill in your poetry. I hope that the signs of appreciation and love will be stronger than the negativity you have perceived. Never allow anyone to hurt you. That is great news about your friend, Katie. I hope everything turns out for the BEST for her. As for you leaving Pip, I hate to hear that. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading you poetry. I will miss you more than I can say. Please don’t stay away too long. I for one DO like you, and will truly miss you. |

Thank you for sharing the great news! Her family must really be relieved. I will keep reading here and looking for your name to re-appear.  But I do understand sometimes issues arise, and we need a break. Keep smiling, lady! |
