I'm proud to announce, that I am on my way to my daughter's graduation ceremony--voted most talented senior of 2009!!!

Future plans? We're gonna take her to the French Quarter--she wants a lucky dog. (sigh--my mini-me)

Seriously, she's considering continuing her education working toward a nursing degree.

And for those who haven't heard? My son is really ticked off about plastic bags and bottles--he's changed HIS major to conservational biology.

As for me?

I'm a proud Mother today, and I may be crazy, but I have enough sense to know that today is very good day.

Much love to all.

And I'm gonna do a lot of ugly-face crying, and I don't care!

It is a wonderful feeling, isn't it!

Nothing like crying out of happiness!

I do understand you. These are blessed moments. Congratulations for your daughter's achievements and for the wisdom your son shows.

Enjoy the celebrations and may your children's dreams manifest.

I love it when you bare your mother heart for us Pipster friends. It's a great view!

Love and hugs and why not ... a hurray dance too.

Congrats from me too. Enjoy your happy day.
Always nice when the kids are doing ok. So many, alas, choose the path to destruction.
My two daughters found their way to good jobs as well as to good partners too.

That it was!

After the ceremony, we took our daughter to eat at one of our old "haunts"--The Port of Call.
http://www.portofcallneworleans.com/index.html

As we waited for a table, we gazed upon the pic of Ruthie the Duck Girl in her place of honor on the wall, and waxed nostaligic.

My husband and I realized we hadn't popped in there in over 20 years--but we didn't consider our daughter's education complete without a trip, to, well, it's technically the Marigny.

I'm full. I'm fat. I'm exhausted, and they are educated.

Tip for tourists: Do NOT order the Red Turtle. (yes, I broke the no hard liquor rule again, but all it took was three sips.)

*shudder*

I'm gonna go take my stomach pills and go to bed.

Thanks you all (especially the Sharons)

Ya'll have pretty much watched them grow up.

As I regressed.

G'nite lovies! *smoochies*

Wonnerful, K!  We had another 2 granddaughters graduate from HS this week, too.  It's a big sigh of relief and ear to ear smile as we count our blessings, seeing these young ladies cross the stage in their gowns.

Your son's interest may be very timely.  My brother-in-law did cost containment for Naval ship building.  It was a very lucrative career.  Me, I just clip coupons. LOL.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your joy with us.

God bless,
Rae

Congratulations to you and your daughter Karen!

And I promise not to ever tell your son what really goes over the side of a ship while under way.....(Kacy, don't read that)

I want to thank you all for holding my hand as my kids pried my own fingers from their hands.

And oh I'd love to go back to college with them, but it will be quite a financial challenge to get them through...

As for now? I'm just gonna exhale. (And grin--I'm actually considering that training program to be a 911 operator...or the thrift store...the shoe store? I've decided that the shoe store job is kind of ridiculous--since I so rarely wear shoes.)

In any case, I'll just lick my finger... *ahem*

and turn the page...

That's the  most important job of a parent, Karen~~ to love them, to keep your children safe and to teach them to be able to go on and be productive adults. You can be  very proud.

I can't believe I missed saying "Congratulations" on Krista's day.  I think whatever she ends up doing she will be good at it, just like her Mom.

As for Zack and his new path, good for him!  We need more people concerned about this problem.

Hey, 2-0 that is pretty awesome!

WHoopEE!! Stand up on a table and cheer! Jump on the trampoline! Dance a cha cha. Cry a little and laugh a lot. You made it this far. But do not think your job is over! We took on a job at birth that had a lifetime contract in it. Enjoy!  love, latearrival.
