Hi All If anyone was trying to get hold of me, my laptop was struck by lightning 8 days ago. I was hoping that the motherboard and/or the power supply would have been replaced by now, but no such luck. If all goes well, I should have it tomorrow, but it may be longer. Owl |

Your laptop was seriously struck by lightening? Wow. That's pretty insane! Let's hope it doesn't happen again! ;-) |

I'm so very sorry that happened, my friend... but I'm also so VERY glad that you're okay and only the laptop was fried. Hurry back as soon as you can... you're greatly missed!! |

This happened to me last Spring. It was awful and they had to replace the who motherboard in my cpu! Thank goodness I had the extended warranty. Hope you get it back soon. ooxx ________________________ |

I was so upset about the laptop and the router, that I didn’t even think about the possibility of my having been hit, until Ruth mentioned it, and you implied it. I will try to stay safe. As you know by now, I have sent you a brief email (well, 2 brief emails!), but will send you a longer one soon. Hoping your new computer hassles are over as soon as can be expected! My laptop’s motherboard also had to be replaced (fortunately the hard drive and power cable were all right) and I had to get a new router (ADSL modem), but it has been a big run around. Owl |

OwlSA, You must have felt lost without it. I had my house emptied out for two weeks because I had painters and floor men in working.I missed the computer more than the Television. I felt I could always read a book. But the computer is my means of communication as I do not like using the telephone. Hope all is well now. latearrival |
