Karen and I received an update from Marge, and since I see that Karen's computer didn't fair to well through Gustav, I'll go ahead and pass on the message to all of you... The 'sent' date on the e-mail was actually this past Friday, the 5th, but for some reason I didn't receive it until just a few minutes ago. Anyway... on to the update... Marge got home from Shands Hospital on Thursday night She wanted all of you here to know that she is home among those who love her. She has had a rough ride, but Tracie and David are taking good care of her. She doesn't have the strength to answer all of the many e-mails that her caring friends have sent her, but I know she appreciates each one and she is trying to rest and get her strength back as quickly as she can. She also asked us to let her 'good friends from Pip' know that there are many places and people in need of the 'vigil of angels' ... She asks that we pray for all of them, and of course for her too. So, in true Marge form, she is thinking of others, even when she is going through such a difficult time. I know you all will keep her, and all of those in need, in your thoughts and prayers, as will I. We love you, Marge... and hope and pray that things will get better from here on out...  |

Just heard from Marge again, and I need to make a correction to what I reported earlier... Apparently, she wasn't released from Shand's until Friday evening, rather than Thursday, which, from what I understand, should have put the e-mail 'sent date' on Saturday night... So... I'm not sure how the date on the e-mail got messed up, but just wanted to clarify what I do know at this point... Marge is still very weak, but says she is improving, and will be seeing her local doctor tomorrow (Monday). Understandably, she wants, so much, to just feel better. She really has been through quite a traumatic and draining ordeal this time, so again, please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers... she truly needs all the support that we can offer her right now... Keeping the vigil, Marge...  |

I came on here looking for good news, since I've been away for a bit. Thanks for letting us know Marge is on her way to better health. Now if they can just identify her lung problem and find a way to treat it, it would bring great relief. Prayerfully, Rae |

Latest from Marge Friends and family~ Subject: Save it ... cause I don't have the energy to type it again I have been through sooooo much Don't know where you all are in the loop of updates, but the Shands excursion for the Bronchcoscopy out patient procedure was a complete disaster. He decided to do the procedure on the left lung and in trying to retrieve tissue for the biopsies punctured the lung, which then became a life-threatening situation. He had to insert a chest tube to keep me stabilized to see if the leak would seal itself. When it did not, he had to do a procedure called a *blood patch* Totally NOT A GOOD THING TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH~ After another day of monitoring, he opted to do another *blood patch* ... then the constant X-rays and monitoring ... finally the blood patches worked to seal the and then another few days of monitoring, which also produced an infection in the lung/or bronchial tubes. I was finally released on Friday the 5th. Been a pretty sick gal, I have. Had the bandage changed where they had taken the chest tube out by my primary care physician here on Monday. Still on antibiotics to keep infection, hopefully, under control. Have had to use oxygen as needed and then on top of that, I got Thrush, which is being treated still. Am taking 'baby steps' to get my strength up and damned if I know what I'd have done without my loving family~. It takes me forever to type this out, so if you want to send it on to anyone else, please do, as I just can't get to my emails much. Still undiagnosed as to the cause of the shadows seen on my lungs, or what it is, or what caused it, or anything except that it apparently isn't cancer and/or tuberculosis, so far. I am now to the point of not really giving a darn as to what it is ... and unless someone comes up with something definitive to treat, when all of the danged cultures come back in ... could be 6-9 weeks ... go figure! Anyhow, back on point, I am ready to leave it alone ... I can't take much more of these medical setbacks ... goal right now is to try to build my strength and try to get on with living~ I haven't been strong enough to get outside except to have my son, David, take me to the doctor at this point. You all know I'm a fighter and right now I may be on the mat, I have got to get strength back to get up and I'm slowly working on that. Now that I'm exhausted simply from typing this out ... I will take my meds and probably go back to bed. Love you all, ... I do *Huglets* Mom/Marge |

Hang in there Marge, and try really hard to eat and get your strength up if you can. There are so many strange darn bugs that invade us these days, and hopefully they will find this thing that has invaded you soon. |

Friends~ I was brought back to our local hospital via ambulance, due to difficulty breathing, last Thursday evening~ Was in Isolation ICU, then the isolation was lifted. I was just moved to a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) which is supposed to be a move in the correct direction. HAVE BEEN A REALLY SICK LADY, WITH A LONG WAY TO GO~ Am keeping all of our PiP friends in vigil of prayer for safety and for the comfort for their losses~ Thank you all for each thought that comes my way~  *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ Email - [email protected] |

Dearest Marge I am so sorry that you are going through all this, but glad that you are getting the help and care you need. Hoping to hear soon that your problem has been diagnosed. Sending healing prayers and another huge chunk of my health your way along with lots and lots of love. Thank you so much for praying for your hurricane-ravaged compatriots even in you own illhealth.
