sorry, it was May 6th folks. He went in his sleep. His health was real bad. I knew this was coming but still....it hurts beyond words. Thanks for the nice thoughts, it means a lot. |

Sea, just before I opened to PIP I had printed the poem I wrote during my dad's last days. It still touches me to think of him. WhenI came here the first thing I opened was this posting. I am with you right now with soft warm feelings, sharing your loss. This was my beloved Dad's last days. I shall always remember him with love and devotion. As you will remember yours. love to you and your family."late" It's After Twelve O'clock and I've listened to the news now Johnny Carson's on so I know, I've made it through the day. I think I'll write a letter no time could be better then while I'm waiting for the new Tom Snyder show. Well it's two a.m. I think I'd best be going, but first I'll ask why the light is glowing behind my father's bedroom door. He said he's just resting he's allright, So I'll be getting on to bed. It's four fifteen and I awaken, while I'm up I'll look in. He's still sitting in his chair the way I left him. Yes he's fine he says Yes he'd like a glass of juice. so I bring it and I'm off to bed. At least I know, we've made it through the day. It's twenty after five and I think I hear a noise, can't sleep until I check, everythings the same. Now it's close to six I say I may as well get up. It's a new day and comforting to know, he's made it through the night. January 1981 |

thank you so much for the nice words. Margherita...that is exactly what has kept me sane. That and love from those who matter  I cry for me, I'm going to miss him so much. I don't cry for my Dad, I know without question, he is just fine. I've said it before,  I'm a Daddy's girl 100%. It's just going to suck big time without him in my life. I remember dancing on his feet, and I will never forget that. Those are the memories I hold onto....even when he was harsh, he was trying to teach me something, and you know what? He did. I feel very lucky that he was my Dad. I had a very very good daddy. |

Susan, you know that I know what you are dealing with and how there is so much love that will be treasured forever but yet it doesn't make the pain go away. Our father was all us girls had and when he passed it was so very truly hard. It sounds as though, both of our fathers taught us the lessons that we needed to survive in life, and they did it with love and best intentions. Lighting a candle for your healing. Prayers are on wing. You know where to find me when you need me.  |
