A simple request please, for any prayers, thought, well wishes candles....etc for my 'domestic companions' (Bill) daughter Brittany.
This young woman just turned twenty-one on Dec 26 of 2006.

Thursday afternoon she, along with four other persons were found in their apartment all near death from carbon monoxide poisoning.
This was caused by faulty heating.

She was flown by life lion to Washington DC
to a hospital, several hours away from us.
Her along with one other female and three other males, all were taken  to separate hospitals for special machines.

Her lungs have filled with fluids and she is in critical condition on life support.  She is not yet breathing on her own.
She has since Thursday also developed fluid on the brain and they can’t do anything currently to relieve the pressure, as  her body is too weak.

They allowed her to awaken for a short time yesterday, but she can not speak. She wrote on a pc of paper the letters  i c and e but it was scattered across the page, not like a written
word.   She went into a chamber at eleven a.m. yesterday morning.

Last evening, they induced a state of paralysis to prevent her from moving or using any strength. The doctors are doing their best, but her
condition has worsened.

If ya'll could manage to send healing thoughts, prayers, wishes...anything at all....

please, just know how greatly it would be appreciated.  Thank you.

~D~

Only God in His wisdom can heal.  We ask for His grace and care to watch over each of them.

I'm sending my prayers, too.  I can't fathom the shock and pain of it all.  I send the mustard seed that I held in my mind when traveling in an ambulance with someone I love.  That coupled with a tender hug...  My prayers will be with you all.

My apologies to all for not returning sooner to provide an update.

There has been little change in Bills daughter.  They induced paralysis over the weekend to keep her from moving, as she is very weak.

Her carbon monoxide level was 21 and has dropped some, but not a lot. They did back her oxygen off from 100 % to 70% and is currently at 45 %.   One of the complications they have been having with being able to treat her properly is something none of the family even knew yet...

She is seven weeks pregnant. Every thing that they have been doing so far has been to try to save the baby, and to get Brittany stabilized. They aren't even concerned with any thing beyond that as of yet, and there is a possibility if both mother and child live, that they both could have permanent damage from this.

Her treatment has been hindered due to the pregnancy. They still are trying to get the fluids in her lungs under control, and she still has fluid on the brain.

She currently remains heavily sedated.  The family and doctors have gotten Brittany to blink her eyes in response to their voices.

The doctor in D.C. told the family, that Brittany’s case of Carbon Monoxide poisoning is the worst that she has ever seen in all of her years as a doctor.

Thank you all so much for your continued support.

Donna, words cannot adequately express the sorrow I am experiencing with this news about Brittany, her baby, and her friends.
I will pray with every ounce of my being that they all get through this and without lasting reprecussions.

Prayer can move mountains and they have many people praying for them, to be sure!

Loving, healing hugs for you all,
Linda

Dear Donna

Some times it is so hard to find a reason for the things of such negative proportion that happen in our lives to people that we love.

Know that I am sending thoughts of any kind of positive outcome for all of you.

Love, Martie

Donna is not feeling well, but got out of her sick bed long enough to let me know that Brittany has improved enough to go home for continued medical care.  Donna will hopefully feel better enough herself by tomorrow to fill you all in on the particulars.

Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Oh, Donna! What a tragic set of circumstances. It's good that Brittany was able to leave the hospital to continue treatment at home. Hopfully all be given a positive prognosis.

Sounds like a move in the right direction, but prayer will continue as I'm sure there's a long way to go yet.

I'm still finding it difficult to be near the PC as this flu is really kicking my butt, but wanted to pop in to let everyone know that Brittany has been taken back to a closer hospital due to a blood clot that developed after she left the George Washington Hospital in D.C.  They are currently trying to treat it with blood thinners in hopes that further action won't be necessary.

Thank you each, for your thoughts and kindness.  Now, back into bed for me.

Hugs to all.

Donna, my thoughts and prayers continue for you all. With you having a bad bout of flu must make it all the more difficult for you to deal with Brittany's critical condition.

I'm with you all in spirit. God bless!
