Once there was a day....dull like all my days back then, but not sad, only dull and guilty-feeling like depression makes for you when it’s really got you by the throat...... I’d been looking at my last poem, or what I thought would be my last....a Choka style poem...an extended Tanka, actually....out of pure ennui I looked up the word online, and followed the link to a site I remembered seeing before, where a choka chain was going, led by a woman named Sunshine, and friends talking to each other along with it....it felt so nice reading that thread, I wished I could show them mine, wished I could talk to them too, but you had to join in order to post, and I am almost terminally shy.....after a while I got brave enough, and did join, and talked to them, posted my poem, named Japan....... That was four years ago, tomorrow. I believe the operant term might be, “Wow”........ I just went back and found that thread – also wow. I remember being that guy.....I do. NOW.... I understand. A "wow", indeed. I was just moments ago encouraged to find yet another poet of some time here at passions and saw a few stars twinkling in the archives, clicked, saw a post of mine at top with a very recent date and thought, "what the..." and there you were.  And aren't we so very glad, and pleased? Dang good thing I'm not wearing buttons.  Happy A, bro. |
