Hi I am new here not much of a poet but love poems. I was wondering if anybody could help me out. I would like to find a poem for my daughter to her grandma. She never knew her Grandma her grandma passed away 8 years before she was born. Her Grandma passed away of breast cancer at the age of 42 and after a 7 year fight with it. I know she would have loved to see her Grandaughter. Childeren were her life and livelyhood. If anybody can help me out finding a poem from a granddaughter to a grandmother whom has passed away I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Brandie p.s if you want you can e-mail me at bla98_41@yahoo.com |

I would just like to say thank you for your reply. I sat down and wrote a poem my self and I have never even attempted somthing like that before. It really felt good. I am going to post it please let me know what you honestly think. I know the punctuation is probably not right I am not good at that. My Dear Grandma My dear Grandma I never got to meet you I never got to know you, Even though I wish I had I love you as if I knew. My Daddy says you would've adored me, and I would've adored you. He and Grandpa tell me stories and we miss you even more. I know you are watching over me, and you see how fast I am growing. I will grow-up knowing you, and I will grow up admiring and loving So my dear Grandma, please keep a close watch. We all love you and miss you a bunch. I will always keep your memory close to my heart. When I grow-up and get very old, I will look back and remember you through the stories told Loved and Missed by your Granddaughter |

How old is this child? Is she old enough to write something from her own perspective, as many children discuss life issues like this with family and friends, and if she has a friend who has a loving/doting grandma, she just may already have formed an idea as to what her a relationship with her missing grandma might have been. It's a good one you wrote, from the heart, and that's always the best kind, irregardless of any grammer or rhyming issues. Hugs, welcome to Passions, and have a hreat new year! |

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for being so kind and generous. I think I will be writing more poems. I found it very relaxing. My daughter is only two years old and my Mom is still alive so she has a Grandma on my side. It was such a hard thing for my husband to have lost his Mom at the age of 15. He has two older brothers and a younger sister and they took care of her at home through the whole illness. She was a remarkable woman who I wish I could've met and my daughter could've met. But my husband makes sure that my daughter, Amya will know who she was. Again thanks to everyone. Brandie |
