One of our favorite Irish lasses could use some prayers tonight as they remove a tumor...a suspicious tumor. I will try to learn more tomorrow - but I won't get to see her myself until Sunday. She will be in the hospital for 8-10 days - so if you've a prayer to spare? Please think of our Bridget Shenachie. Thank you!

Thank you all so much - she will be most appreciative. I know the surgery was to start "late" - around 4:00 p.m. CST - but at 9:00 when I called - she was still in surgery.

Your prayers will help...I know. And I know she knows!

and I remembered you stated you were seeing her Sunday.

Thanks to all who came in to leave a prayer behind for our Irish lass. She is doing fine and the tubes that she was hooked up to for a few days have been removed. She will be in the hospital for a few more days, but she is on the way to a good recovery, from what I have heard so far. I went to visit her on Sunday and she had a good number of family with her, so I didn't get any one on one time. I went again last night - and she was resting. I will be stopping by again tonight - and perhaps we can have a chat. I am looking forward to telling her how many of her poet friends were with her in spirit - I can already envision her smile.

I popped back in to this thread to see if there was an up-date on Bridget ~ and I am so pleased that I did!

Prior to Margherita's input, I printed this all out and took it to our lovely Bridget last evening.  I met with her again today - and yes, she had/has Stage One cancer, and the oncologist will be talking to her about what they can do for her, given her abilities, strengths, etc.

She was overwhelmed by your love.

You see, this wonderful lady comes from a very large, loving, caring family.  If she didn't have us, then she would still have more than her share of support, encouragement, and thoughtful care.  But you know what?

I saw her eyes tear up as she read your love, your hugs, your care and prayers.  And sometimes, it is just all of that, that gets us over any hump or bump in the road we might be facing.

I cannot thank you all enough for your generous outpouring of love and concern. While I know you all don't know her, other than through her poems, I can assure each and every one of you, if you were to meet her, you'd find a

I'm home from the hospital and so grateful to all of you for your prayers and good wishes. The positive energy generated by all of you helped speed my recovery. It's wonderful to be home!

Thanks, Martie. Keep those prayers coming. I feel a little like a million bucks after taxes but I see improvement each day. It's a good thing that I have lots of good reading material on hand.
