http://www.kboo.fm/listen.php With a beloved anchor on Thursdays moving to Seattle to begin a new experience at a station there, the Interim Evening News Director has asked me to become the new anchor on Thursday after saying she was impressed by my unscripted anchoring job at the Blues Festival last week!  At the link above, you can listen to KBOO anytime, which features non-corporate, commerical-free news, music of all genres, social commentary, entertainment and much more 24/7. And now, you can hear me live on Thursdays from 5:00-6:00 PST, as I will be anchoring with a partner on the KBOO Evening News! (we like to diversify the news positions through the week so everyone is represented, with different anchors, producers, engineers and editors each day of the week!) Some may say KBOO News is very liberal/progressive, which it essentially is to a great degree, but I rather like to think of it as a news program that focuses on unpopular stories worldwide, with voices ethinically diverse and true to human rights struggles, peace studies, international relations and sub-cultures. We follow a charter at KBOO News where all the stories we look up run in that vein, with Free Speech Radio News (world news), Independent Native News (Native American News), EarthWatch (environmental news) and exclusive KBOO reporting being our primary sources. Noah, as you know, I listened to the KBOO radio's live stream of the Blues Festival that you co-hosted. You were a natural and it is no surprise to me that it has lead to a promotion such as this. ~ but I am surprised that it happened so quickly!!! (giggles) I bet you put a lot of pep and endorphins into the team you represented, yay! (does happy cheerleading dance) Balladeer, yep, it's from 5:00-6:00 Pacific Standard Time (think it's from 8:00-9:00 where you live). We just share the stories, not talk about the news like Fox News and Air America do, for indeed at KBOO it's understood that often when you talk about the news more, you tend to distort or misinterpret things, so, yeah, we just give the story and leave it to the listener to talk about it him/herself! ***********Update************ It appears there must have been a minor misunderstanding on the schedule for this month. It is actually an anchor on Wednesday that will be leaving, not Thursday.
