"Have no fear of moving into the unknown. Simply step out fearlessly... therefore no harm can befall you; all is very, very well. Do this in complete faith and confidence."-Pope John Paul II

I'm not a Catholic, but the world has lost a great man. I believe he was not afraid to move into the next word, I believe he had no reason to be. RIP

Love's a lovely lad

He was deeply loved by Catholics and non Catholics alike.

May he rest in peace.

He was a lovely, kind soul who also enjoyed writing poetry. Tears fall.

He touched the world with his constant message of Peace and Love.

A wonderful soul, a true "Shepherd", a Father, a brother.

He will be missed, but his message is engraved in our hearts.

In gratitude and love,
Margherita

Pope John Paul's place in history is not only one of the most important Popes, but one of the most important people of the 20th Century.  His work in Poland during WWII and subsequently during the Cold War was an inspiration to men like Lech Walensa and without that chink in the wall of the Iron Curtain we might still be fighting the Cold War today.

His leadership was prophetic in leading the Holy See out of the dark ages.

Namaste to him and to all who mourn his loss.

(sigh) Pope John Paul II is one who I have always respected very much.

Indeed he has influenced the world ever so much. He continued to preserve and promote the morals and teaching that influence both Catholics and non-Catholics alike, while also keeping up with the times as well in having his message promoted through modern technology like the Internet.

The influence he has had on the world as Pope for nearly the past three decades has been enormous, and no matter how much you'd agree or disagree with him, I'm sure we all share common sentiment today in his passing and Heaven's doors have truly opened for him today.

God Bless!

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

Over This, Your White Grave

Over this, your white grave
the flowers of life in white--
so many years without you--
how many have passed out of sight?
Over this your white grave
covered for years, there is a stir
in the air, something uplifting
and, like death, beyond comprehension.
Over this your white grave
oh, mother, can such loving cease?
for all his filial adoration
a prayer:
Give her eternal peace--
[Krakow, spring 1939]

This is one of His Holiness' writes.. the man was multi-talented in communications.

They took pictures of our dreams
Ran to hide behind the stairs
And said maybe when it's right for you, they'll fall

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Ringo, that was absolutely beautiful, dearest friend, God Bless You for sharing that treasure!

Not only as a Catholic, but as an individual, my respect and admiration of Pope John Paul II is immense.

I believe ever since he was influenced in his youth by the Nazi occupation of Poland through which he lived and then by the subsequent 43 years of communist rule thereafter, that truly, I believe, must have left him with this cosmological sense of the importance of individual dignity in all the world.

I truly believe that may be what has made this Pope stand out among many others in recent memory. Not so much that he broke the 400-year tradition of Italian popes, but he gave that special, unique, incredibly dignified voice to the Vatican and to the world.

I guess the single greatest thing I will remember him by is by being the Pope who has travelled more across the world than any other Pope in history. I can't even begin to explain how deeply moved I am by that sort of kindness, travelling all across the Third World to visit and offer compassion to the poor and less fortunate.

I didn't always agree with the Pope on everything, such as his stance on gay marriage, but his dignity and love well overshadows any political disagreement.

God Bless You, Pope John Paul II. You are now truly forever in God's arms.

Love,
Noah Eaton
