Friends~
My report on my cousin, John Allen, back in October was a positive one ... located at the link below -

/pip/Forum3/HTML/003334-2.html

Now, three months later the news is disheartening as is stated in this letter from my cousin, Jack Allen, John's twin brother~

=========================================================
"Dear Ones,

Yesterday (Tues., 1-25-05), John's wife Margaret called and left a message on my phone.

I returned her call later last night and spoke to Margaret and John.
John and Margaret were advised yesterday by phone by John's doctor at Emory Univ. Hosp. in Atlanta that John has early stage invasive cancer on his vocal cord or cords.

On Fri., 1-28-05, John and Margaret will be traveling to Valdosta, Ga. from their home in Douglas, Ga., where John will be seeing a doctor at a medical facility regarding radiation treatments.

John and Margaret were in Atlanta on 1-13-05 for John's checkup at Emory.
The doctor saw a white mass on John's vocal cord(s) that he said wasn't there when John was there a few months ago.

A preliminary biopsy done on 1-13-05 revealed no cancer but the doctor wanted to remove the white mass, which he did on 1-14-05 (outpatient surgery).

On 1-14-05 another biopsy was taken for a detailed examination with the results to be phoned in to John and Margaret several days later, which was done yesterday (1-25-05).

I'll update you from time to time on John's condition once the radiation treatments begin.

PLEASE continue your prayers for John, Margaret, their family, and his recovery.

As you know, John does not have email but I'm going to U.S. mail him this email, as well as any email responses I receive from you.

Please feel free to send this email to others.  Thanks.

May all of you have a wonderful evening.

Love,
Jack Allen"

=========================================================

Once more I plead for a gathering of the prayer angels, please~

Sincerely~
~*Marge*~

Marge,

you are always so willing when any of us come to you for prayer and comfort. How could we do any less for you? Of course we will pray that this cancer will be defeated!

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

Having been through this once with my stepdad (and fearing the day it returns),
I know how hard this is on your family, Marge.

Positive prayer-thoughts headed your way.

Dear Marge:

I'm so sorry this has happened to your cousin Johnny and hope for a positive outcome. I never have stopped praying for him and his family, since it was suspected he had cancer awhile back. It's such an insidious thing and I felt I should continue. Of course, they are in my prayers daily.

We received your prayer request this evening for Johnny.  We were amazed to see what a small world we really live in.  Johnny is our brother in law, we are in Missouri.  It's wonderful to see so many people praying for good results for him and for keeping Margaret in your prayers as well.

God held Johnny in his hands in October and he will continue to hold him through all of this.

Please keep the prayers going for Johnny.  Nothing is stronger then prayer.

Marge ... It is not easy trying to get through life sometimes. Please let John and Margaret know that Ron and I are praying for them. We will ask God to heal John and give Margaret strength and wisdom to care for him.

hugs to you and your family, Marti and Ron

Dear Prayer Friends~
Received this lovely letter to share with you all this night~

--------------------------------------------
"Dear Ones,

I've rec'd emails from many of you -  that you are praying for John and his family and inquiries about John's health.  I was away recently for 9 days inclusive (1-29/2-6-05), of which 5 days I was with John and his family in Douglas.  We had a marvelous time together.  I'll be returning many times to see them.  For a young man like me, a 7 1/2 hour trip from Fort Myers, FL to Douglas, GA is a piece of cake.  Since I'm retired, have car, will travel!!

John began radiation treatments on Tues., 2-8-05, at the Cancer Center in Valdosta, GA.  He will have 28 treatments, which will be administered M/F.  He has had no ill effects thus far from the treatments.  They tell him eventually he will begin to be fatigued from them.  He's in good spirits with a nice positive attitude.  I printed out  the emails I rec'd from you about John prior to my leaving for Douglas on 1-29-05, and took them to John and Margaret.  They thoroughly enjoyed reading them and thank you so much.  The ones I rec'd from you since I got home will go out in the US mail to them tomorrow.  They appreciate your thoughts and prayers for them and their family.  PLEASE continue to remember them in your thoughts and prayers.   Forgive me for not responding to each of your emails to me about John.  I DO read them all and they will be printed out and US mailed to John.  I'll update you again at a later date.  THANKS so much for your emails and prayers for them.

May all of you have a wonderful week.

Love,
Jack Allen (twin brother of John)"

Thank you ALL for sending up prayerful thoughts in Johnny's name~

Thank you for allowing me to be part of the prayer family for John and his family. It's  so disheartening when cancer revisits.  May John keep his spirits and expectations high throughout his treatment.

In prayer,

For whatever reason I had not realized that John and Jack are twins.  I would have been a twin myself and at times feel that a part of me is missing.(My twin was terminated by the Lord long before birth)  My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family always.  We may not always know the whys and hows of God's will but He provides for us all and does not assign a task that we or our loved ones are not able to handle with his help.

much love and many blessings
