I realize that most of you might not remember, or were not around for the challenges I was facing voer the last year with my "lovely, adorable" wife and my kids, and that this is going to not make sense or confuse some, however I HAD to share this with those of you who were so kind last year with my scribbles about it:

My son was sent to New Jersey to live with her best friend and friend's hubby (VERY long story) for the next year. I have been forbidden to contact my (step)son, and her friend has been informed that I am to be hung up on if I call, and my son was told not to call me, even though he has the new number and address....

I GOT AN E-MAIL FROM HIM TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And he signed it with the nickname that only I have ever caled him. I guess he is showing his mother that genetics is not what makes a Dad.

Thanks for allowing me my 15 seconds of bragging.

And such a small thing can bring great joy! Let's hope there are many, many more such small moments - kids are smart - they know in their heart who to trust, who to love. Be patient and open....good things will come to you!!!

Thank you all.... I have since then gotten 2 more e-mails, and he is including me in such littole details about his life as his new jobs (both of them) and the girl he likes, and all...
