Several of us have favorite search engines we use in our daily news gathering, research, curiosity purposes for and over the Internet. Today Google popped up with a "new version" of their search engine, one that is supposed to "block popups". Well now don't you know that was of some interest to me...so I thought I would give it a try and download it. It's of use for both personal and office computers...so... I'll let you know if I experience any problems. I'm a good little guinea pig, I know...  ...But ANYTHING that will alleviate popups will get a  from me! |

I downloaded it after this post. It works very well, it even tells me when they are blocking it and they adds that site to the list of block ups. It's pretty cool. Thanks for the tip.  |

You are welcome, Miah. Google has been my default page for some time. I'm glad that they are as concerned about their consumers as is our own host. |

I always loved Google, but I never noticed the tool bar before. Its very neat and I like the page rank as well, pretty cool. If you ever have any other neat programs to share I'm up for them. |

You know what, Miah? The Google pop-up killer is the most effective to date. It allows pop-ups where YOU direct them [such as Passions] and BAMS them where you don't want them... so far, you've one happy camper here... |

I'm using the Google bar for quite some time now, but I never encountered popups. Maybe that's because I use the Dutch language version? I just love Google. Titia Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |

I'm trying the Google thing now...are you getting odd emails though? I've gotten about 8 today...with .pif attachments. I deleted them all because I don't know who they're from. The subject line is "Thank you" or "Your Application"...odd.. I wondered if some of the popups that are thwarted then send an email? |

Those email are from the latest virus making its rounds. I've been getting hammered all day, getting probably close to a hundred attachments an hour. I really have to find time to get my email address off the main site.  |

Thank you Ron...my ISP blocks them but Yahoo doesn't. I feel sorry for you - I was annoyed at the few I got. I can't imagine the amount you are getting. Can you forward your email to one that automatically blocks attachments? |

Not getting those - my virus checker is getting them as well - one provided free through my ISP... Poor Ron... HOWEVER...my Google bar is wonderful! It allows "site popups" where appropropriate and "click" it's off when you're in other sites...by choice. I wish I could HUG it! |
