Dear Friends, I just got off the phone tonight with Madame Chipmunk/Lyra. Madame Chippy, as I affectionately call her, has received some very dishearting and frightening news. For those of you who may not know, Lyra has been battling cancer. In June her catscan showed few spots on her lymph nodes. Recent test results have not been so kind. Her cancer is growing and spreading. Signs of growth depict a very rare cancer and one that at the moment knows no treatment. In fact, she has informed me of a growth that appears to be engulfing her aorta. Madame C. needs two things from us. l. Prayers - she needs support and motivation to fight this and to write again. She tells me that her muse is gone but, I know better. Her body and mind are regrouping to focus on what she needs now - Strength and courage. When she has this show of strength her muse will return, gifted to us with a renewed hope and a fresh spirit. 2. She needs to know if anyone should have any lead or connection concerning the new cancer serum or if anyone has information concerning possible new trials that she might be able to take part in. Resources are critical. Your conscious awareness of possible contacts that, perhaps, you may not even have been aware of could mean the difference to the health of this precious and beautiful poet. I first saw her short dark brown hair round almond eyes cheeks you'd want to pinch a woman of action straight to the bullseye I did not know of her muse just her sense of duty to community I did not know of her butterfly beauty until I read her poetry She tells me that she wants to leave something good behind I tell her she is and that there is more today and much more to come tomorrow I am at a loss for words what can I say I love her mind I feel selfish Her acknowledgement makes me feel worthwhile But it is not about me or you It is about her and at this moment I want to heal her... |

Lyra, May God give you the strength to fight, the wisdom to know how, the insight to know where and renewed courage to demonstrate His grace. Please know that I love you and am praying for you.   (tears fall down my cheeks) Oh dearest friend, thank you so much for having the courage to speak this out, I have been worrying about her the last few days noticing her absence and now my heart cries out to her and I too send angel hugs her way with all my heart! (BIG HUGGGSSSSSS) I will continue to spread the word and encourage all to join in a circle of hands of prayers for our dearest chipmunk to heal and that this cancer can begin to subside and she will again grow stronger! I have no words to express my feelings right now, except to say she is like a soul sister in many ways, and my heart is hurting alongside hers. I will light a candle for her, and wish upon the stars for powerful but gentle healing, and peace. |

Oh Lyra, I wish I could offer more than my prayers right now. I am so sorry to hear this. If I knew of any leads on this serum, I would do all I could to get it for you. But I don't, so I will just pray extra hard that you will somehow get the treatment that will make you better. Hugs to you Lyra....extra, extra big ones. Don't give up hope...miracles do happen. |

Lyra, you know my thoughts. In your regrouping, allow that mental energy to come back in so that the fight can be inward, as well as outward. If the doctors have a specific name for your type of rare cancer, that will help. I will get with my sources and see if there is some information we can pass on to you to take back to your physicians. Thank you so much for this information. I have had Lyra in my thoughts and prayers, since I first knew of her condition. She has a vibrant and beautiful spirit. Lyra, love can move mountains, and you are being sent so much love that you will be able to blast anything that stands in the way of your health. God's grace is reflected in you and his love and strength will get you through this next battle. Prayers, like thoughts, are energy and they can effect changes. There have been double blind experiments where one group of patients with similar medical conditions was prayed for, and another group was not. There was a significant improvement in the health of the group that was prayed for. Fellow Pipsters: I know that our group is world wide so there are many time zones. I'll be saying words of prayer for Lyra at 9 am, noon, 3 pm, 6pm and 9pm every day. I am in the Eastern Standard Time zone but until October 27th we are observing Daylight Savings Time. You could either synchronize your words of prayer for Lyra with ours in this time zone or observe your own time zone hours. No matter where we live on this planet, there will be many people praying together which adds to the power of the prayers. While we have met several wonderful people here, there has been a certain bond we have felt with you from the first day you/we appeared. It is with great sorrow and love we feel for you and your words, that we read this latest news. Electra... Thanks so much for posting this thread for me, and also for the lovely verse. For anyone who doesn't know this... Electra and I have been neighbors for quite a while. We met through a mutual opposition to our city and Western Michigan University who decided to build an industrial park right next to our neighborhood, which also happens to be an environmentally sensitive neighborhood. After my first husband died, I moved out of my house but I still live less than 3 miles away, so we are still neighbors. So I would like to thank my very kind friend and neighbor for posting this thread and for asking for prayers as well as some research help.... ~ loving chipmunk hugs and lots and lots of appreciative thank you hugs too! |

I certainly appreciate both... more than you realize PDV... thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers... and most especially for helping with some research Tracey... thanks for those extra big hugs, I feel them all around me, and also thanks for the prayers Karilea... the name of my cancer is "small cell bladder cancer" which is a very rare and aggressive form of bladder cancer... and totally different from it also. There are 4 types of bladder cancer and this is the only one which is not associated with tobacco and it is also the most lethal. Thanks for your warm cuddling hugs... which I send back to you now along with a big thanks for helping with the research Scorpio... Well, this is without a doubt a little set-back but nothing "all of us" can't deal with together through our love for you Lyra. I plan on coming to Michigan for that meeting you are having so get yourself into any trials you can girl, and know that we all care about you, and are here to support you in whatever way you need us to.
