just wondering when next sweep might be? Coming out of poetic closet... going to use just my name. thanks, Daniel ps:any comments, suggestions, i think that's a dumb idea kinda thangs??? |

Five years ago, I was cautioned against "using your own name". This, from an abundance of caution as to the wherewithals of internet name abuse, made me find a user name that was also something I could identify with. Now, of course, there are so many spam and virus controls, we could all go broke in implementing same. And guess what? People still know my real name. A sweep is instrumental in either pulling several names of one user together; and/or any member who wishes to get rid of the pseudonym and identify their work by their own name. Now and then, Ron implements same. He will post the upcoming sweep in Announcements, when he has time, and is ready to implement such a change. There y'go! |

So until Ron sprinkles magic dust on our old names we are just stuck being who we are. I wonder why would anyone want more than one name? Maybe this should be changed so that one person could only have one name, why should anyone be allowed to have 3,4,5 different names? It's all about the poetry, not who we can confuse with different names. ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

Paul? 1. Because some people are shy; 2. Because some people have very little self-esteem; 3. Because some people don't have understanding spouses; 4. Because some people get stuck in a "molded" identity - and are only expected to write one way. Adopting a different name is like adopting a different mask, or muse; under a different guise, they are allowed [even in only in their own mind] a sense of freedom... it all comes out in the wash, eventually. As long as Ron doesn't care, why not? |
