Her question was who has met who? I think we should ACTIVELY get a plan together. I am thinking Oprah would like to do a show where she unites all the passions poets. Why not? Anyone want to help  get something organized?

I have proposed this topic to a few people and everybody agreed with it.....but passion members are located all around the world.
Would this mean only the active members get to come, or what?

I really think it'd be an awesome thing to do, but who would provide the money and so on?

it would be a great idea but I think it could destroy some illusions, change perceptions of our favourite poets.
I vote we hold it in Perth Australia for no reason what so ever. Ok if I bring a date.
Some poets out there understand the above comment.

Like Javier said who pays the fare, we can't expect Ron to do it can we?

I think cyber land is probably the safest place for us poets to meet. I just have a bad feeling about all of us in a room together, am I the voice of gloom here?

I was thinking Oprah could pay. And we could all meet on her show  LOL
Hey, stranger things have happened.
Bri, do you really think we would lose all our delusions if we met in person?
Maybe, but it would be worth a try.

Why would Oprah pay for US to meet? haha
I think we need to be practical if we expect this to practically happen.

Have to agree with brian...and though we may all like to think we're Oprah material, we're probably more Montel or Springer.  Just my late night, very tired opinion.

We've had poetic conclaves - the most attended being our Washington DC meeting in September of 99... It was a wonderful time, though we had only a half dozen or so poets there.  We weren't at all disappointed in each other.

Planning such an event is a HUGE endeavor - Location is the first dilemma - We can't all agree on that one... As for finances - everyone has to be responsible for themselves - Collecting money from a group is virtually impossible, and was probably our biggest stumbling block...

We've learned that the best times are the impromptu ones - and to welcome as many as can manage to show up is best...

Well, we could be Oprah material, you never know. Especially since i now know of a true (TRUE) love that has come about through these pages.
OK, so she won't pay. What if we pick a place in the US and a place out of the US, each with a leader, just to let everyone know when and where, and we all manage to crawl, fly, drive, hitchhike there ourselves. I would come I would I would!
Just having the date and place set, and a few people committed to go, and we could grow from there. Gven enough notice, I'm sure at least a fairly decent gathering would take place.
It would be fun!
Give me something to look forward to, you guys! I'm in for whatever needs to be done. We could look through all the hometowns of memebers, and try to find a spot midway to most of us.
And no, I don't have a life, I told you that...

Oh my, meeting all of you                                     .
Have to start counting my savings (jee, hope I do have any)

Good old America, last time I've been there was in the eighties.

Please not in March and April please cause that's the time my flock of sheep are giving birth, have to stay with them.

Sounds like a blind date I'm getting all   just by the thought of it.

I think the best time would be around SUMMER....

Just to let people know....I'll be living in Atlanta.
I think it should be done in a city in the USA where everybody can meet.

This summer would be better if it were possible because next summer is just too darned far away to make plans for. Too much time for too many things to come up. Dopey, you're going to be in Atlanta? Cool.   I like the whole leader in each state or part of the US thingy or whatever. LOL!   If a group traveled together to one place the expense wouldn't be as bad perhaps? *shrugs* LOL! SONGBIRD?! Where are you?  Songbird is from here in MS. Serenity is an hour and a half away from me. There are more than a few from Alabama here too. Right? Hmm...Also a few in Arkansas.   Sorry, just letting my thoughts come out.

How about we do it every year, at a different spot, and whoever can come, will come. I'm agreeable to anywhere if I can get a cheap plane ticket. (IF is a big word)
I would like to go to California myself, cause I already love the place. South is good for me, too, I always wanted to see New Orleans. But hey, you could all come to NH, and be really and truly BORED. I think only Spitfire and I live in this area though.

If you're talking about THIS summer meaning within the next few months....I'm but a 18yr old heading off to prepare for college.....
I think the upcoming summer would be good, plus we'd have it all down to the roots when it comes to a where and stuff......maybe in somebody's house (a nice one to trash) so we can sleep over!!

What a great idea, I think any season that works would be okay with me!  I think the south is a great place to meet, but so is New Hampshire.  Why not several meeting places so everyone has a chance to come?

Cape Cod is always a good option... Cottages galore... But alas they're nearer the ocean than they are ponds... ... and there's not much to do other than going to the beach, aquariums, parasailing, jetskiing, whale watches, museums, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Plymouth Rock & the Mayflower, shopping...

Anyone had a Colorado Bulldog? Made with Kahlua, Vodka, milk and coke. Sounds awful maybe, but really yummy.
Dopey you have to have just coke.

drink no has to be Irish Whiskey, if ya want drink come to the home of alcohol, Ireland.
We could all hang around Temple Bar (where all the pubs are) and have a huge pub crawl.
We could even make up fake ids for the under 18 members of our group. OK bad idea.

Well I will probably be working to get my ass to Australia anyway.

Oh wow, lost you for a while, had to ask Ron about your whereabouts (ha ha dumm Dutchie me).

You disappoint me a bit guys, thought you had the trip all ready to go by this time.

I'm in for the Irish, not coffee though, never drink coffee, but the whiskey, mmmmmmmm the whiskey brings back a lot of memories of drinking that awsome delicious whiskey sour (unknown in the Netherlands) in the States.
You have to drink that standing up you know  , for if you drink it sitting down than the standing up becomes rather uncertain as I often experienced

Or...you can all come to my place and we'll take a sip of our homemade applewine, mind you, it has the same effect as the whiskey sour

After coping here with those 47 softballplayers my daughter brought along two years ago (some of you will remember I wrote about that) I merely smile at having you lot here

Oh well babbled enough, we'll see, we'll see.

This sounds most cool.  Glad I stumbled onto this thread

How about Virginia?  There's a lot to do around the Blue Ridge Parkway, and right now is a great time for hiking, camping, and so forth.  I live at the foot of Afton MT., next to a golf course, and could sleep quite a few.  Charlottesville, is right next door, home to UVa (where Edgar Allan Poe was a student), and Dave Matthews (woo hoo!).

Yeah, we are all sitting here thinking this is a good idea, but no one knows what to do next. Maybe we should make a list of people who could actually make it it we decided on the most central location possible.
(I for one, am having a bad money year, but I would sure try!)

Yea, money will always be a problem.
Maybe we'll need some time to save some first.

Making a list of those who will join is good, then you've an idea from where people will come.

Oh well someday we'll meet I'm sure, only hope it will be before I'm really old

I vote for SYDNEY. That way you guys can all crash at my place.

If you want to really go sight-seeing it should be in Sydney because there's nothing else to see in Australia apart from what they have in Sydney  @ Liz!!
I think that a meet with ANYONE from the internet would be bizzare-let alone a bunch of poets from Passions LOL.

So:
Place: My house (its big enough I hope-and quite comfy too), In Sydney Australia
Time: We could have it in the summer (that is about half a year away-so you guys living in the Northern hemisphere can escape the ugly winter)
Dress:...howabout BIRTHDAY suits? That way we can afford what everyone else is wearing and get to know each other very intimatly indeedy

Dear Catalinamoon,

Are you older than fiftyseven my dear
Then we must meet in the future near
My mom she will be ninety very soon
she still drives her car catalinamoon
I'm planning on getting old and healthy
So you make plans on getting a bit wealthy
Then you can buy me a ticket safe and sound
And I'll come over and I'll drive you around

Someplace scenic and inspirational. Set far enough in advance so most could budget. Perhaps take over a place in the mountains reserving all the rooms or a cruise.

This is so cute! First, we all invest in the lottery.  Then, the winner[s] get to buy everyone else's tickets to a central location.  In the US - that would be ME!  Of course, then we have to decide "whose" summer...flip a coin.

But you've got to love the idea!
