~Hey there,...don't eat Grape Nuts, OR Yogurt ICK! But,...my favorite cereal would definately be Lucky Charms with those little marshmallows that crunch like dry and dusty chalk,...YUM! Love those. How? With a tiny spec of milk,...don't really like that white stuff. Is this really what you were asking for or have I just jumped into something long running, clueless? Anyway, ![]() |

Cereal? It has to be cereal? Poot...well, there goes my normal fare of 3-4 rashers of bacon, 4 eggs, 2 pieces of wheat toast, and 3 pancakes, with many cups of coffee. Guess my all time fav would be Boo-Berry. Never tasted it though (so how, some will surely wonder, can it be my fav?). You see, when I was young and ignorant (not I'm just old and ignorant) Boo-Berry was the rage, but only during the Halloween season (back then, it lasted a mite longer than a weekend, and wasn't preempted by other holidays). Well, we couldn't afford it, and when we could afford it, it was gone, reason being that since it was so rare down there in Coastal Texas, all the other parents and kids would snap up all the boxes, and the stores would only be given so many to sell. Guess you could call Boo-Berry my most favorite unmet-need cereal. Now, my fav currently (outside of just about every hot cereal) is Total Raisin Bran. I likes the raisin, and they tinkered with the flake so that it doesn't go soggy instantly, like Post RB does. Also, it's fortified with EVERYTHING. What does fortified mean? It means they take the base material (wheat, corn, etc.) and bleach everything out of it, to make it pure (never understood that myself...is that like money laudering?), and when they have had their way with it, stripping everything away like a jaded ex-spouse, then they put their everything back into, more than Nature originally intended...often 100% more than what Nature intended. But, at least with this artificial cold cereal, I don't have to drink orange juice, eat 2 grapefruits, and have 4 slices of toast to ofset the sugar overload. ![]() |

I don't do breakfast. The rare moments I do eat breakfast you will NEVER find me eating cereal. YUCK! It's the milk thing. But I love YOGURT! |

I want my Hollandaise sauce over well cared for poached eggs, no wiggly white but a creamy soft yellow middle that oozes over the Canadian bacon and soaks into the crisped, buttery English Muffin with a side of crispy hash brown potatoes and I'll take that with hot, hot coffee in my cream... Oh, cereal. Hummm...... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Hmmmmm... Look Nan - you try to get a discussion on cereal and now it is a discussion on breakfast... it can't be helped... ![]() I'll turn it around! Saviour K! Errr..ahem...(sorry - just acting out my own fantasy novel - do I get a sword to fight off the breakfast fiends?) Cereal....HONEY PUFFS or HONEY BUMBLES... puffed wheat covered in honey...sigh... oh and never mind breakfast - just ask Maree, I was talking to her last night at midnight while eating a bowl of the latter. (They are essentially the same - different brands)... In fact, I had nearly tipped the whole thing on the floor because I decided it might be fun to have a bowl of Bumbles (I KNOW - it sounds absurd) in one hand, a cup of tea in the other and a cat intent on tripping me up twining around my feet. Now, what made this interesting is that I had to do this IN THE DARK...while also trying to open two doors... yeah.. but the mission succeeded! (Admittedly, I DID spill the empty bowl afterwards... ~blush~) But no, all extraneous clumsiness aside...these things ROCK... except when they get soggy in the milk...brrrr...YOGURT is nice on them too... ![]() < !signature--> The wind shifts like this: Like a human without illusions... Wow. I had spent many years trying to find Boo Berry in stores, but never could. You see, Boo Berry has two "brothers" if you will. Count Chocula and Franken Berry. Count Chocula is the popular one and the one you always see. It is, I believe, also the oldest one. Then came Franken Berry and Boo Berry. I haven't seen Franken Berry in a long time. But a couple months ago, I found boxes of Boo Berry on sale at Super Target. Oh, it was a most wondrous time for all. Boo Berry had been found and it was much better than Count Chocula. I mean, it made the milk taste blue-berry like. Oh, like I said, it was wondrous. That is my story on Boo Berry, even though it is not my favorite cereal. It is simply the one most rich with mythology and legend. Ryan I like too many things and get all confused and hung-up running from one falling star to another till i drop. This is the night, what it does to you. I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion. —Jack Kerouac |

Hmm, for cereal, I think Kellogg's Frosted Flakes is the best, with milk. I also like Lucky Charms, Honey Nut Cheerios, and Raisin Nut Bran (mmm I used to love those nut-coevered raisins, they were yummy, but I haven't seen this one in a long time! Hope it's still around!). But besides cereal, I love pancakes or waffles with strawberries and whipped cream on top...mmm! You can't beat that! Elizabeth |

Okay, when I happen to eat grape nuts, I like them warmed in the microwave with honey on top....as for my favorite cereal of all time, it would have to be Cracklin Oat Bran, hands down. It's sounds like it would be some nasty heath food cereal, but it's not...its like yummy granola made into perfect little "O"s....mmmmmm........*drool* Good topic Nan! ![]() *Krista Knutson* "One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar." How do I like my Grape Nuts..? I like them not at all ... Bran flakes proffer the same flavor, without the threat of tooth damage ... why anyone would enjoy eating a breakfast food with the consistency of gravel is beyond me ... --Linda Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers. |

I have to agree the more sugar the better, lucky charms, captain crunch, I also do like cream of wheat with butter , milk and sugar, if I am energized enough to make it, most of the time even over cereal, grap toast or a bagel. But that's a whole different subject. |

No grape nuts for me. But I could go for a bowl of Fruity Pebbles or Apple Jacks. ~*Love is sometimes like a rose. Beautiful in the beginning but dies in the end.*~ |

they don't make my favorite anymore (*tear*) it was marshmallow rice krispies. with the tiny hard marshmallowy things that you get in lucky charms. *note: look for frankenberry and booberry around halloween. they tend to randomly appear. |

Okay, on the Boo Berry, that stuff ROCKS, and we have DO have it in Boulder, in the groc. Frosted Flakes are awesome, but only if you can eat them superfast before they turn to frosted mush (SO eating FF and watching cartoons... not a good idea). Golden Grahams are perfect for that event, though, not too sweet, and they stay crunchy just a little longer... you get the sugar without the rush! Fruity Pebbles? Woo hoo! I can eat 'em by the handful. However, if I must choose favorites: Special K w/soy milk or Grapenuts w/ honey (heated to steamy perfection.... oooohoohhohhoo...) great, now I have to go get another bowl of this stuff and a container of yogurt again.
